UC has signed it's first 4* player.....

Local Chris Williams, CB out of Winton Woods!!!!

Congrats to Brian Kelly and the Cats!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Congrats. So far this looks like a solid year for most of the Big East schools minus Pitt which only has 14 scholarships to give.
Congrats....... We have Big East teams in some extremely talent rich areas. From Ohio,PA to NJ and FL........there is no reason why we shouldn't be dominating in recruiting and on the field for years to come.
great pickup for cinci and i saw his teammate also committed. always good to see the local talent staying home and you can't ask for a better situation you lose almost your entire defensive backfield next year.
They will lose 2 of 4, if Underwood is eligible. Since he went to tO$U, he has to make up 21 hours this summer to qualify.

congrats on a good pickup.. 04-bow
It's going to take the Bearcats some time to make a real dent in Ohio State's recruiting efforts in the area. They've got a lot of name recognition to overcome. But this is good news. Let's see Kelly keep it up.

Actually, UC has a pretty good lockdown on the recruiting in our area. That's why Tressel has been, personally, coming down to the area, because Cincinnati has been doing a good job in the area.
That's great. I didn't realize UC had taken root in the Queen City. 04-cheers
Congrats UC least you can keep yours in the city.

We've lost 2 (Justin Green and Whiting) to Ohio State

a few to UK from the inner city of The Ville that are 3-4 star guys

Green from Male (which usually would just ship right over to UL) is a 4 star CB our biggest weakness every year and we couldn't land him. His brother went to Ohio State, but if he is a UL fan he could've stayed around like Bush and Brohm did to help solidfy the program.

I'm one of those who think that UC doesn't really need to make that big a dent in OSU's recruiting, as there is enough talent in the state for both of us. The key, I believe, is to win the battles between the other Big Ten and BCS programs which mine the state. We're really beginning to do that.
Brian Kelly and his staff have made amazing inroads this year in Cincinnati high school football. To date UC has secured commitments from 5 of the 10 top recruits in the city. The Bearcats have a great shot a 3 more of these prospects. Here are the recruits and their rankings to date from Rivals.

Maalik Bomar 3*** and rated 45th best outside linebacker.
Austen Bujnoch 3*** and rated 40th best offensive tackle.
Everitt Horne 3*** and rated 68th best corner
Josh Jones 3*** wide receiver prospect
Chris Williams 4**** and rated 18th best corner

I would also add that UC has a commitment from junior linebacker Preston Brown who by all reports will be both a top rated player in Cincinnati and the state of the Ohio next year.

There is a sea change in how UC football program is perceived in the city of Cincinnati by coaches and players. due to (1) Head Coach Brian Kelly and his staff (2) The Big East and the BCS label (3) investment by UC in football.

The Big East has taken root in the Cincinnati area, and by all accounts, other parts of Ohio and Indiana.
Good job. Increased recruiting will increase success on field and will lift the league to higher ratings.

You guys are also on a roll. It's great to watch the development in our football programs.

This is dead on.....if UC could/can just keep the local 3* and some 4* players from the area they will be a Top 25 program each year. O$U recruits 4 and 5 star players from all over the nation anyway. There is enough great players that UC can fill their roster and it wouldn't really hurt osu at all.

What we are seeing this year and even last year is that we are finally getting the local players that were not quit good enough to go to osu but that would have gone to out of state bcs teams like IU, Ill., UK, Pitt, Mich. St. etc. in the past.

If we keep getting these kids and then "steal" the occasional 4* we're good to go. I would really like to see us nail a 5* once in a blue moon that O$U is after.....that would be icing on the cake!

With Salesman Supreme Brian Kelly at UC it's only going to keep getting better. We need to build the indoor practice facility and expand Nippert for the man and he's good to go.
Great news for the BigEast.

Of course when this kid lines up against USF, I hope he falls flat on his face! ;^)

Kelly is really making an impact!!!
The 5* recruits will come. It's just a matter of time.
