20,000 with corporate sales is not out of the question.

04-cheers
Still a little surprised that more people have not caught on.

I hope so. The students should be back in full force. Looking forward to the year when we have 7-8 home games and not 6.
I don't see us getting 8 home games any time soon.

If we get a 9th school, then things would be easier. Otherwise, there's little chance to get 8 games:

Even Years (2010,2012,2014):
1 home AA
4 home BEC + 3 away BEC (obviously we don't have this now)
1 home MiOH**
1 home OOC + 2 away OOC *
That'd be SEVEN (7) home games in even years

Odd Years (2009,2011,2013):
1 home AA
3 home BEC + 4 away BEC
1 away MiOH**
2 home OOC + 1 away OOC *
That'd also be SEVEN (7) home games.

* If you switch the OOC rotation you could alternate years of EIGHT (8) and years of SIX (6).
** If you switch the Miami years so that home games coincide with our three home game Big East years, then that also helps to balance things out.

Bottom line, eight games is tough for us because we can't afford to pay anyone other than AA's to come to Nippert. Other OOC's will probably continue to be home and away deals. Why? Because it's a seller's market.

I am surprised that more UC Alums have not caught on. Not surprised that the Cincinnati area in general has not caught on. Sports fans in this area are fickle at best. Plus, the media and local community has pushed UC aside for so long that it will take time to build up community support. Still what has happened this summer is great. With two more months this number will only grow.
The Enquirer article about John Harbaugh when he was a coach here in the 80's really puts UC football history into perspective. Urban Meyer previously also commented about the state of UC football during that time period.

I experienced it first hand as a student during the early 80's but to hear it from a coach/former player only strengthens it.

There really was apathy toward the program then and it was a mess. It was a lot to overcome but I really think if UC can keep Coach Kelly here 2-3 more seasons those days should be well behind us.

And you wonder why there was so much apathy by the fans. If the school doesn't care about football the fans won't either. Once the school cared enough to get the facilities and coaches to produce a winning team the fans have stepped up to support.
I just bought my season tix online last night but didn't have the option to pick where my seats would be. I sent the ticket office an e-mail and didn't hear back from them today. Can anybody enlighten me on how the UC ticket office handles things and why they do it they way they do? You would think that they would make buying season tix easy....03-idea
Call them. They are very helpful over the phone.

I bought my season tickets in mid May and I still don't know where they will be. I called the ticket office about a week ago asking where my tickets would be located and they said that I should be recieving a call within the next two weeks about coming down and picking them out.
I hope I can do it over the phone! I don't live in town!
Anyone who is a new season tix holder or who is moving seats gets a notice in the mail with a date and time for selection. I moved this year. I go down Friday morning. You can do it over the phone. No big deal. They have a huge board in the tix office with a gigantic map of nippert with every seat drawn and numbered. When you show up to pick, they stick pins in the seats to desgnate that they are now taken and they immediately enter your info in the system so those seats get reserved and those are the tix you get sent.

Pretty cool map. When you see it, it really gives you a clear visual of where tix holders clump into certain areas. Some of the areas are not what you'd expect.
Okay guys I'm way out of the loop here. I haven't gotten my season tickets yet but I'm going to...

So the question I have is do they still have that deal for the $60 season tickets like last year???

THANKS!

Excellent! Thank you! $90 is still a great deal!

You might want to hurry. That same article mentioned this:

Two of the most popular season ticket packages, the Bearcat Lair ($90 per seat) and Family Plan ($199 for four seats), are going rapidly and could be sold out by the end of the month. Fans are encouraged to act now before they are gone. Once the two packages are sold out, fans will be able to purchase UCATS Reserved or Non-UCATS Reserved plans.

We moved to the other (Bearcats) side of the field. More room for concessions and restrooms.

We were able to move with two other groups that have sat next to us for several years. We did it over the phone two weeks ago. It was easy. The UC ticket rep just looked around for the best situation to accomodate all our needs. And we improved our seats up to the 35 yard line.

You will probably receive something in the next couple of weeks. They are just now finishing up with UCATS and previous Non-UCATS season ticket holders. You will receive a letter with seating chart. The letter will indicate a date/time when they will call you to pick your seats. Very easy and painless process. As others have stated, the ticket office is very helpful when you call them.
Building fan support is a long-term project. Another winning, Top 25 season and you put the foundation in place for a strong fanbase. Cincinnati has to hook the young fans and grow with them. Then we can try to grab the older fans as we go along.
