Wide receiver Roddy White on his first NFL practice:
"I made a lot of mistakes. It's going to be a learning process for me right now. I went out there and blew a lot of assignments today, ran a couple of the wrong routes -- just messed it all up on the first day."

White on if he expected to be perfect on his first day:
"No. I expected to be a little bit better than what I was. I made a lot of careless mistakes today. I didn't hustle on a lot of plays. I've got to pick it up in the afternoon."

White on if the pace was faster than he thought it'd be:
"Yeah. That's what caught me off guard. Everybody's moving at a tremendous pace and I've just got to step it up this afternoon and be ready to go."

White on if he thinks his teammates look at him differently because he was a first-round pick:
"Not my teammates. Everybody out here looks at each other like everybody's trying to make the ball club. Everybody wants to contribute to the team. So no, not really."

White on if he is in awe of being on an NFL practice field:
"It's kind of amazing just to be in that huddle and see him right next to you looking into your eyes and you've got to catch balls from him. But you've got to become a player and can't stand around watching him all day."

White on what else has been an adjustment for him in his first day:
"The play calling. This is a new system for me to learn and I've got to learn the concepts. I haven't even learned the concepts yet. I've got a long way to go. I've got a lot more to learn, but it'll come to me over the next two or three months before the season starts."

White on what he brings to the Falcons:
"Well I'm a speed guy, so I'll get down the field, hopefully catch a couple of deep balls and score some touchdowns."

White on what kind of ball Michael Vick throws:
"Spirals and he throws them pretty deep, too."
