RAMS CLAIM GRADKOWSKI
Posted by Michael David Smith on June 5, 2008, 5:23 p.m.
Adam Schefter of NFL Network is reporting that the St. Louis Rams have claimed former Buccaneers quarterback Bruce Gradkowski on waivers.

According to Schefter, the Bears and Raiders also put in waiver claims on Gradkowski, but the Rams had priority based on having the worst 2007 record of the three teams that put in claims.

Gradkowski started 11 games as a rookie sixth-round draft pick in 2006. But he became expendable in 2007 when Jeff Garcia took over as the Bucs’ starter. In St. Louis Gradkowski will compete with Brock Berlin for the third-string job, behind starter Marc Bulger and backup Trent Green.
That's good that 3 teams put in claims on him - he was wanted.
Excellent news, a fresh start for Bruce!!! Isn't that where Greco is headed as well?

No he wasn't- didn't you hear? He hasn't got an arm 01-wingedeagle
Detroit was also on this list. 4 teams total.

DAMN! That woulda been sweet! But St. Louis isn't bad w/ Grecco there (and McCullum)
Ooo...St. Louis is a good place for Bruce to be. I really like their offensive system.

He and Greco can hang out now! It will be like old times....except now they get paid a lot of money. LOL
So much for niubuc's fan of him not getting another shot.

Whoops. St. Louis is a good spot for him, but Chicago probably would have been the best considering they only have 2 QBs. I wish him nothing but the best.
might as well make it a #2 qb spot, Trent Green is one good hit from being finished imo.

I can't believe any Dr. would pass Green with all the head trauma he's suffered. He really ought to retire after 13 years in the NFL.A big hit and this could become a real tragic story.
I was hoping Bruce would end up in Green Bay as Rodgers' backup. Bruce has played many cold weather games and is good at making the accurate shorter throws that the Packers use frequently. I guess after the Packers drafted two QBs this year, that wasn't going to happen.

I wish him all the best and I guess I'll move the Rams up the list to my 3rd or 4th favorite team :-)

I'm glad Bruce is getting a new chance and I'm glad Gruden gave him this opportunity by releasing him early. The new environment should do Bruce well.
