WJOX sports talk show host, (Yes I use the term loosely) was arrested in Shelby County today. After being stopped for running a stop sign the police discovered that there was an outstanding warrant for his arrest for writing a bad check in 1996 at a Chinese restaurant in Northport Tuscaloosa.

Mr. Fitzsimmons was cuffed, stuffed and transported to the Northport Police Department. It seems that Ian wanted to be just like his beloved Criminal Turd players he adores so he decided he will join the ranks of arrested Tiders in a jail cell near the Capstone. Film at 11.

BTW True story. No joke.
Can't say that I feel sorry for him.
And, I'm laughing AT him, not with him....
Hahahahaha What a freakin' loser!

Wait....we already knew that.

His bio from the radio station in Dallas that he haunted for awhile, says it all:

Quote:Attended the University of Alabama 1990 – 1996. Fat, drunk and stupid IS a way to go through life.

I would say that he succeeded!

He's now touting it on his moronic show's web page:
A complete waste of time and airwaves.

Don't forget to skew the poll

Was Ian's arrest justified for a $12.00 check in 1996?
62% Yes
38% No

Couldn't have happened to a nicer guy.
They kept talking about it yesterday, and I just figured it was for sex crimes against animals. But, it was an even dumber than that.

The saddest part is, I bet he was hungry again 20 minutes after writing the bogus check.
Was Ian's arrest justified for a $12.00 check in 1996?
66% Yes
34% No

Ha ha

run that sucker to 90%
$12 does not seem like much but my grand-parents had a food store and they got stuck for about $150 a month. So they had to try anything to help recover all or some of their loss. Even a $12 check.
>
And it is not like they just go get a warrant on you right after the check comes back to the business.
They have to send certified letters out to the address on the check. If the letter comes back "No such address" or something similar then you can get a warrant. A If the letter does not return to you then you have 60 days wait until warrants could be issued.
>
There are also two types of returned checks
1-Insufficent Funds (IF)
2-Account Closed or No account found (closed)

IF checks are usually minor and the DA or court clerk believes that there was no intent to fraud at the time of the written check.

Closed checks are with intent to fraud the seller.
>
All IF checks are misdemeanors but most Closed checks are felonies.
What? Arrested for writing a bad check? I'm with grendalson. I would've thought it be for something much more serious. Like having sexual relations with paul finebaum.(come on if its not illegal it should be)

Attended the University of Alabama 1990 – 1996. "Fat, drunk and stupid IS a way to go through life." Ian
Finally some good news! Karma can be rough.
He put a poll up like the outcome of the poll is going to have any effect on the warrant. If you don't want to have a warrant and get arrested, then don't break the law. The owner of the restaurant likely placed a warrant out for the guy because Ian was probably a smarta$$ when confronted with the bounced check. He probably didn't want to pay the additional $25 for writing a bad check. He likely took the chance that the owner would just whine about it and not actually file a warrant.
It certainly would be easy to kick this dude when he's down, but it was a freakin' bad check.

That isn't even worth mentioning to folks, and this isn't news.

Not at all saying that writing a bad check is OK, it isn't...
like i said, ian was likely an a$$ about it
most businesses won't go after $12
i wouldn't unless the person was a jerk about it
Yeah, I think I agree with both of the last two posts. It's so minor that they've already spent many times more than the check was worth in gas alone hauling him around. OTOH, at some point you gotta think he's had a chance to clear it.

Sometimes though, stuff like this gets in a computer and it just sits there till the right situation invokes it. You gotta figure he didn't know there was a warrant out on him over this previously or he'd have cleaned it up already.
