My wife's parrot bit me last Friday and my frickin' hand is still swollen. Anyone know if blue macaw's are poisonous? Might I need to get it amputated?

On a similar note, if anyone wants a parrot, IM me. He's shot of him:

A friend of mine had the identical parrot for many, many years. He loved that bird. He built it a private screened in gazebo in his back yard. A racoon got in one night and ate it.

THey're not poisonous but you might have gotten a bacterial infection from the bite. DId it break skin? Anything oozing out?

broke the skin, but nothings oozing out and no pain, just swelling--but that's decreasing each day.

I have to admit that if a parrot bit me it probably woundn't be alive right now
