Huskies win 13-7.
THe MAC should make more of an effort to make games up (ie- double headers; leave a weekend or 2 open in the middle of the season for rained out series to be made up)

I agree, EMU and KSU had a whole series canceled. That could have changed the seeding and division champs to help NIU or Bowling Green.
Whats the early verdict on the neutral site for the tourney. did any fans show up to watch?
I think seeding matters the least in baseball. (Even though the top 4 seeds advanced yesterday!)
With the weather, it's hard to leave open spots in the schedule because so many games get rained out anyway and teams need to get as many games in as possible. There is just a limited window to get games in. Teams don't want to leave gaps in their schedules if they hit good weather where they may not have anyone to play. We can't start any earlier than we already do, which is still too early for the Great Lakes area anyway.
First of 2 elimination games is underway. OU leads WMU 3-2 in the top of the 5th, but WMU has 2 runners on and 1 out.
Ohio lives to play another day, namely tomorrow morning at 9:00am AGAIN! not being a morning person, three games in a row at 9:00am sounds brutal to me! LOL

anyway, Ohio outlasts Western Michigan, 5-4, and will play the loser of the game this afternoon between Bowling Green and Eastern Michigan.
OU holds on to win 5-4 and will advance to play the loser of EMU-BG (today @ 4 p.m.) tomorrow. Quick game! Under 2 hours.
Next up: Ball St. and CMU.
NIU-Kent St. at 7:30.
(Attendance yesterday was 537.)
Chalk.
OU and BG this morning at 9:00, with the winner to play at 4:30 vs. EMU. OU or BG would have to beat EMU twice to advance to Saturday afternoon's finals.

NIU has to come back and play Ball St. at 12:30 after a late finish last night in the 10-6 loss to Kent St. Game ended just a bit after 10:30. Winner of NIU-BSU plays Kent St. at 7:30 and would also have to beat KSU twice.

It's very tough now for the loser bracket teams. Pitching is already strained playing 4 days in a row, but when you would have to play two games each day the last two days, it really puts a lot of pressure on some tired arms.
Assuming Kent and EMU win and make it to the championship game tomorrow, does the winner win or is this a true double elimination tournament (as the loser would only have 1 loss)?
OU looking for its second CG in a row from it's starters, however Brandon McFarland hits a PH 1 out home run in the bottom of the ninth. OU & BG tied at 3 going to extra innings.
The winner from each side of the bracket will play a 1-game championship regardless of whether they get there with no or one loss. It is modeled after the College World Series.
It is possible for both the champion and the runner-up to each finish with 1 loss.
OU and BG head into the 12th inning at 3-3.
BG is 4-0 against Ohio this season.
And OU scores 4 in the top of the 13th to put the game away and send the #3 seed BG home as the 3rd team eliminated.

OU now has to come back at 4:30 and play a rested EMU.

Next up: Ball St. and NIU for the right to play KSU tonight. Game was supposed to start at 12:30, but the long OU-BG game will probably delay this game until about 1:30.
Very exciting tournament with lots of close games.
