I went out to Ikea tonight and bought a couple of matted frames for the California Bowl and International Bowl Programs that I have. I'm putting them up in my man's room along side the action photos I bought from the 06 and 07 season off of the WMU website above the shelf with the MAC mini helmets I got last season. Pretty excited about this. I'm trying to get a respectable collection going. I was curious to know if there are any other WMU memorabilia collections out there and what your best pieces are?
I have my 2 tickets from the first and second rounds of the 1998 NCAA Tournament matted along with a team photo signed by the entire team.
If you go to the WMU garage sale in Feb. (during hoops game) you can pick up a lot of good stuff for your collection.

I got a very nice plaque from the International Bowl for $5. Football Jersey's can be had for $25. I have Jason Malloy's in my rec room (interned in my room for awhile). I picked up a bball jersey, although they didn't have any this year. A game used ball can be had for peanuts. A game used helmet is pricey and they are usually in short supply.

Action photos of Scheffler, Reed, Jennings, etc. can be purchased at the WMU offiical athletic site for only $2.50 for a 5'7".

Bronco football and basketball rugs are available off line or at the bookstore. You can also get basketball and football Bronco pub mirrors on line.

If you want to go big dollars, there is an Ebay store on Portage Rd. that will sell you a Bronco bar table and bar stools ($350). He also has Bronco neon signs ($275), and will also custom make them for you.
shortrunposters.com is the greatest site ever. i've had a couple bronco football photos blown up into 18x24 posters for real cheap and put both of my tickets from the games at scu-m inside the frame.

i have a white wmu hockey hat with the old school logo in the traditional "bar look" the game used to put out, except that it is completely unwearable. it was my prized possession for about two years, until one night when i was 19, my friend's uncle's st. bernard ate it in ann arbor after i spent a long night of drinking in windsor and i subsequently got fired from a job for the only time in my life the following morning because i didn't show up to work. THAT was a horrible day.

i still swear there is someone at the bookstore hoarding all the old school bronco gear that never was sold 10 years ago. i want access to that gold mine.
I have a pretty complete collection of Dance Team posters.

Have a scrapbook style poster of misc. items from the 04 MAC championship tournament win.

Similar scrapbook poster of items from the "snap the losing streak" football win at Mt. Pleasant 2001?

Team photo of Paw Paw Freestyle wrestling club that included Jason Babin as a 6 year old. My son was on that team as well. Jason was big and strong like a little bull even at age 6.

Best is probably a mini-basketball handed out as a early arrival prize from 04, signed by Reggie Berry, Mike Williams, Anthony Kann, Bobby Madison (04 seniors), and Steve Hawkins at the celebration event held at UA following the tourney win.
Neat site IB. Looks like a creative person could make something great out of that.

I bought one of these last month:

My plan is to put all the WMU road game ticket stubs I've aquired over the years in there. I think its going to look pretty neat when its all said and done. I can also use it to help and justify to the wife keeping every stub, and program from every game I've ever been to. I like to preserve the things I feel connected to and proud of. I like photos, ticket stubs, programs, from games I've been to, jerseys from players that were in school when I was, and anything associated with the teams that really stood out. Still on the search of any more Cal Bowl stuff from 88.
Pretty neat, Liam. I like that frame idea. I've got a collection of ticket stubs (sporting events and concerts) that I've saved over the years. I might need to buy two of those - one for all non-WMU stuff and one specifically for my just started Bronco collection.

Having lived 1200 miles away from WMU for several decades since just a few years after graduating, I have few pieces of Bronco memorabilia. I just started collecting at last year's Iowa football game. I saved the ticket stubs, game program, and the game day and following day's Iowa newspapers. It's a start. Now, I'll be adding stuff from this upcoming Nebraska game.
Quote:following day's Iowa newspapers
I took the Gazette's headline and scanned it. Had it printed onto 8'10" photo paper. Put it in a matted frame and added it to my wall. It looks cool and was fairly cheap.
i'll third that liam, that is brilliant. i think i'll get that tomorrow. i've tried to take all my ticket stubs over the years and put them into a picture frame, but aside from gluing or taping the tickets to the back and destroying them if the experiment doesn't work out, gravity pulls them all down in a short while. thanks for that.

glad to hear people still buying newspapers.
"glad to hear people still buying newspapers. "

Aging demographic though.

Well, that was one that I absolutely HAD to buy. I wanted to see what the reaction of the Iowa sportwwriters was after the Broncos dominated the Hawkeyes.

Does anybody know if there is a way to find an archive of the Gazette site? I never did get to read their coverage of that Iowa win. I would like to find and read the actual article.

Or, Dip, do you still have the Gazette from that day? Could you scan the headline and also the article and email it to me? I'd love to include it in my memorabilia.
Cancelled my subscrip to the Detroit Free Press when they busted the union-after advocating union rights for everybody elses unions for the previous 50 years. Hypocrisy with a capital "H", what?

The upside is it's cost Knight-Ridder many 10's of millions of dollars over the years.
I would like to see the Gazette sell some special addition posters of the sports section for a big WMU victory like the Detroit New and Free Press does for major Detroit Championships. They could go back into the archieves and put together a few memorabile issues for a pretty nice series I'm sure. It would also like to see some of their photo reprints for sale. They have some nice photos displayed on the side menu of the WMU MLive site now but even those aren't easily purchased. The GS Photo is more than adequate don't get me wrong but its only two seasons old and I'm sure the Gazette has years of quality WMU photos dating back to the old days.
My zoo t-shirt from the last ncaa tourney run. An important part of my t-shirt rotation and has been for 4 years now.
