Just because I can brag.

I ran the Flying Pig Half Marathon this weekend and finished in 2 hours 3 minutes and 57 seconds. This is my first long run race, and it was a lot of fun. Perfect weather for it, too.

Did anyone else run this weekend?
Congrats on finishing the half. I ran the 5k saturday morning.

I'm planning on running the Detroit half marathon with my mom in October.
Congrats. Running distance on those hills is always a challenge.
I ran last year...in just of 1 hour 43 minute... I skipped this year to go to the Derby (i figured trying to run the morning after the derby would be fine)... The goal is to try to work up to the full by next year.

It's a great experience...it's really fun having everyone cheer you on as you try to finish.
Yeah, this guy ran it too.

Why would you run that far when you can drive?

Hard to say if that guy was lucky or unlucky. Things could have been a lot worse.

I did it because it is the only sport I'm apparently good at. It doesn't require having any skills, the ability to make good decisions, or any sort of innate athletic ability. All you need is the stupidity to keep throwing your legs in front of yourself to keep from falling on your face, which would put an end to the discomfort. I suppose this could also apply to drinking.
Top 30% of overall finishers, not too bad at all. And you certainly did better than Eight Bells.
