According to a document the Daily Chronicle received under the Freedom of Information Act, the cost to Northern Illinois University for using Parker Executive Search, a search firm that specializes in assisting colleges hire coaches and athletic directors, for three searches is $166,882.60.

Broken down by search, this is what each one cost.

For head football coach Jerry Kill: A $40,000 professional search fee and $18,312.55 in miscellaneous reimbursable expenses.

For head basketball coach Ricardo Patton: A $25,000 profesionall search fee, $12,930.22 in miscellaneous reimbursable expenses and $693.83 in research and communications.

For athletic director Jeff Compher: A $25,000 professional search fee plus another $25,000 listed under the same category that has yet to be billed. Also, there is another $20,000 in miscellaneous reimbursable expenses that has yet to be billed.
