the Pride of Boone County was released today by the Seahawks. Amazing to me, if he can stay healthy and can keep his head in FB he's one of the best in the league.
I don't think he'll ever be what he was a couple years ago due to age/injuries. The Bengals don't have one above average running back on their roster but have a bunch of guys who different things. I think at this point Alexander would be one more guy who isn't a difference maker. Now if McFadden is available...
if McFadden is available take him and trade Chad straight up for Albert Haynesworth

??? WTF, you think McF is going to be available at 9? I just praying Sedrick Ellis is there without us having to move up.
i said IF i never said he would be. u never know, he has character issues and could slide.

just what the Bengals need, another RB.

You can easily (compared to other positions) find RB's in the middle/late rounds of the draft. I fail to see the need for the Bengals to draft ANOTHER first day RB, especially when they need to build a defense. Besides, RB's have the shortest NFL life of any position.

Give me defensive line help, offensive line help, LB and a WR.
Alexander isn't what he used to be, but I think he could be a good option in a RB by committee approach where he got 8-12 carries. He still can punch it into the endzone with the best of them. I don't think the Bengals would be a good fit for him though as they already have enough muddiness at RB.

Now if McFadden does fall (Doubtful, but with the character issues, who knows), the Bengals should jump on him, or orchestrate a mega-trade. He is just too good to pass up and it gives you your every down back and I don't think he will be an issue in the future as I think he learned his lesson. I don't see it happening as if he falls too far (7th or so), teams may be lining up to acquire his services.

Mr Happy

If Shaun wanted to come to the Bengals and compete for the starting RB job, I'd be all for it. He's not as good as he once was (thank you Toby Keith), but he still as good as what we got right now (Rudi), and more versatile.

I hear Kenny Irons may start the season on the PUP. Chris Perry has never been healthy, nor can he stay healthy. Unless they draft a RB, the options are slim.

I'd welcome him home with open arms if he's interested.
