News broke last week about the MAC being involved in a proposed new bowl game in Washington, DC.

We followed up to get some clarification and also spoke with Rick Chryst about the MAC's potential involvement in the proposed Congressional Bowl and some other bowl related matters:

Very interesting how these bowl tie ins are starting to have back up agreements with conferences. The BCS leagues seem willing to have as many low tier bowl tie ins as they can get regardless of prestige in order to ensure their 6-6 teams of a place to play. I'm not sure what will happen when there simply aren't enough .500 or better teams to fill all of these bowl slots, but that day seems fast approaching. My hope is that sub.500 BCS league teams aren't let into the post season, or else the whole thing is cheapened.
