I was looking for some info on Kenny Stafford. Looks like he's been to Toledo before: LINKY
He is mentioned in the second to last paragraph of the story.

Here's a video, too. Double click on the video window and it should go full-screen for you:

Don't remind me about that game. :muttering:
That was not a good game for me.04-chairshot
pretty impressive highlight reel. clearly a quality D1 talent who uses his hands to catch the ball and has a nice open field stride. of course, it depends on how well and quickly he gets what the coaches are expecting and how the plays work for him to see the field early.
Now that's a highlight reel....another kid that uses his hands to make the catch. He looked like he had some nice wheels to go along with the hands. I look forward to seeing what he does when he arrives at camp.
Definitely has some wheels and can make the catch in traffic. It sounds like we recruited a couple good WR's. I would think either he or Gaymon will see action this year. Looking at the spring roster it doesn't look like we're real deep at WR. I don't see either Hancock or Wadley on the spring roster. With Nick Moore a senior we have to start getting some talent seasoned for the future.
Hancock is in school like M. Williams, Disi Williams, and I believe Jeff Green.

They can't be listed on the UT roster until their grades for this year are verified as "qualifying".

If they succeed they will be listed on the depth charts come summer practice.

Actually Phillip Barnett was a higher rated receiver than KS. It's such a arbitrary process on player ratings.
That's good to hear. Do you mean Disi Alexander? I figured he was gone.
RR- yes I mean Alexander. The last reliable source that I heard stated he was in school. He was an absolutely great LB in HS. DA has a major nose for the ball. He would be a real asset for UT
Yeah, I knew he was supposed to be real good and was bummed that it looked like he kind of dropped out of sight. Since he didn't qualify last year I figured if he was still around he probably ought to be qualified for spring ball, but I don't really know how that process works. It's great to hear that there is still hope for a few of last years recruits who could really make an impact.
If they are still here after the first term the chances of them being around come summer conditioning are pretty good. Usually kids that don't qualify and have to pay their way and make it as a student without the athletic dept academic support separate themselves into two groups pretty fast. Those that have little interest in schoolwork and drop/flunk out quickly. An those, like Chester, who don't come from a strong academic background but are determined to overcome that and get eligibile. Guys like Alexander and Williams are serious talents would have been Big10 recruits if they had qualified early. I think both of them want to see the field and will get eligible and be in the two deep by early next season.
Here is an interesting piece of information about Kenny's video. The quarterback in the video is a freshman at the University of Toledo on a baseball scholarship. I believe he is a catcher, maybe pitcher. He passed for over 1,900 yds the season the video was produced, and that is after being suspended for the first two games of the season for playing summer baseball and missing football conditioning. Also, he only played until half time in many of the games that season. He and Kenny were a great combination.
Holy Snap! That kid can play! Obviously the competition will be a lot faster in Div I football, but his hands look soft, very soft.

Get out-a-here! No kidding??? (Figure of speech...of course you're not kidding.) That's incredible. Too bad he didn't want to continue his football career. That happens, though. A good number of kids who excelled in football end of going with baseball. We've had a few of the from Toledo do so.

Thanks for posting that. They look like a great combo. I was impressed with how he would often hit Kenny in stride, and when he didn't Kenny still hauled it in. I can only imagine that chemistry continuing in the Glass Bowl. Oh well, it's nice to see that they're on campus together and both playing the sports they love.
