Haven't heard much about the search since the committee announcement a few weeks ago. There must not be much of a transition plan since JP's last day is 4/11. Anyone hear of any updates?
The process will kick into high gear once the semester is over from what I hear. Personally, I think John Peters already has a short list of candidates in his desk drawer. I also strongly suspect that Tim Stedman is the odds on favorite to be the new AD with the full endorsement of Jim Phillips.
an AD search like any high level university administrative search is a lengthy process. They've got the right process in place with the search firm and committee in place.
This takes a while. Patience.
I have been contacted , interviewed and I offered to serve as interim AD.
I'm awaiting their response....and yours.

no way it is stedman, if it is anyone with niu ties it goes to current associate ad or a hotshot from left field
i still contend stedman will get the nod. he is solid and has great vision.
I strongly suspect that Tim Stedman is at the top of John Peter's short list. The short list that was put together with the help of Jim Phillips in preparation for the day when Phillips moved on to greener pastures.

I already applied for the AD position but was soundly rejected because I am simply not "world class" enough. Besides, I'm not sure they were enamored with my plans for the cheerleaders. Hey...remember, I'm supposed to be the head guy, right??

The MVC is such a great conference and the MAC is so lowly.

I get the sense that for AD jobs, a job with football is higher on the pecking order than a job without.

I agree, the MVC will always be below the MAC until they get 1-A football.
I made this point a few weeks back, when i suggested Jim as a candidate. Div 1 Football!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I heard ther are 7 candidates and interviewing will start tomorrow. Glen Krupica in the only internal candidate. I am confident that we will have a new AD by the time the spring game is here

I'll stick with the prediction that Tim Stedman wins this horse race. I think he has the backing of Jim Phillips too, which is a definite plus in the eyes of John Peters.
