This was so damn good I had to re-post it and pin it so everyone can see it.

Here's what you should do ...

1) Wear green to the games. Not white, not red, not gold, not black, not polka-dots. GREEN.
2) Get in the same section ...
3) Take lots of pictures in the stadium ...
4) Take tailgaiting pictures ...
5) Be sure to get photos shot from the bottom of the stadium of the full section of UAB fans, not just partials ...
6) Pin those photos from each game at the top of this Web site ...
7) E-mail links and copies of the photos to media outlets and bowl committee members ...


Three other things ...

1) Whenever misinformation about UAB's attendance issues is posted, correct it. Not with whines, not with opinions, not with excuses. But with linkable facts. When someone says something untruthful about UAB's attendance, correct them with a link that sets them straight. Attendance averages, budget numbers, good photographs, etc. Be nice about it, but firm ... And for gosh sakes, fess up when they are right, or don't respond at all.

2) DO NOT go into a long littany of reasons why UAB doesn't draw well. For starters, no one cares about UAB's problems as every team in the league has their own set of challenges. Many of those schools have some of the SAME challenges as UAB and have been battlnig it for years. So no matter how hard you try, it just comes off as whining ...

3) Don't go onto other schools' message boards and invite them to comment about UAB's attendance. You won't get the answers you are looking for and you WILL get some UAB-bashing threads in response.

Those are great ideas, Flying Mouse. Also, on my pictures I'm going to use the optional time/date stamp on them so that they can't claim it's previous games in previous years.

two other things that should be added:

1) Buy your tickets through UAB so the university can get an accurate count of how many UAB people show up ... not e-bay or through the host school ...

2) Be nice to people and spend some money. Make sure the people know you are from UAB. You would be surprised how far making a good impression goes in aiding future scheduling ... More likely UAB gets invited back to places like UT and Georgia if the fans leave a good impression ...

Very good point on buying the tickets through UAB.
