ESPN Picked us to win when they did their preview of CUSA and FOX Sports has us as the early favorite. I think it is natural for the coaches to pick USM as favorites since they have been so dominate in the past.
C-USA media days on CSTV right now. check it out.
Yep... Memphis is on now, then Southern Miss, then UAB (at approx. 10:55AM)
Watson said we basically have 4 questions to answer this year, and if we answer those 4 questions, we should win CUSA.

- How will we adjust to 3 new starting LBs
- How will our pass-defense respond this year
- Who will step up to fill Roddy White's shoes
- How will we adjust with a new PK/FG kicker

Hackney doesnt seem terribly concerned about losing Roddy. He thinks many of our WR have gotten better just by watching Roddy in practice and thinks someone will step up into that go-to role. Watson also said he wouldnt have scheduled that Knoxville trip unless he thought we could have a chance of going in there and winning. Part of that is coach-speak, but I dont think he's too far off in saying that.
Of course a USM website WOULD pick USM to win the conference. That's a little biased.

That's a press release that was posted on their website. Those are not USM's predictions... that's the media predictions from CUSA Media Days.

Oh :(

The closer we get to September 3rd, the more I have a bad feeling we're gonna have a mediocre season.
The Rice coach keeps referring to UAB as "Birmingham"... at least it's not "Alabama-Birmingham."
As far back as I can remember we are ALWAYS picked lower than our actual finish. This year will NOT be the exception.
