We just flat out got beat by a hot team tonight - best I've seen Akron play this year.

I don't think the zips win the next game...to think they can shoot that well 3 games in a row, and have Wood's knee hold up is a gamble. Still congrats on the win.

thanks for the nice comments.if we play kent i have no idea what to expect.we have to win to get in obviously,but they are pretty much in regardless.im sure both teams will play hard since this is also the big rival.i would not want to put money on this game since there are way to many things going on in this game.i would hope to see a good crowd at the game,and give the mac a good show.

It all comes down to can anyone beat Kent State. My guess is probably not.

For the sake of the league, I hope either Akron or Miami can beat them as it is the only way we avoid being a one bid league. ESPN is supposedly saying that Kent is a lock now. I'm still skeptical.

I agree, i understand KSU wants to win the MAC, but it would be really beneficial if Akron or Miami won the conference and the auto-bid. Kent State is already a lock to get an at-large bid and decent seed (#10, last i checked).

Ideally at this point, if Akron can beat Kent in the finals they will both pick up pretty decent seeds.

Akron's RPI will shoot up to the 60 range and with a record of 24-9 should be at least a 13 or 12 seed.

Kent State would be 27-7 with an RPI of 30 so a 10 seed should be a lock.

What if Kent State loses tonight to Miami. Does everyone still think they are a lock?

I'm pretty confident they would be a lock if they made it to the MAC Championship game and lost.

It could potentially be a Miami vs. Akron MAC Championship again for two straight years.

The MAC is going to have a dream crowd for the championship game Kent-Akron.

should be fun. mac will be well represented. kent had a very exhausting game and akron is rolling so i think the zips have a real shot. good to see 2 veteran teams earn the finals.

also good seasons to western and miami. they both had some good wins. miami also had so many close killer losses. kent deserves a lot of credit for beating them 3 times.

kent now 10-3 vs rpi top100. that's gotta be a lock. like the ninth best record in the country vs the top 100 teams with 2 of those 3 losses to top 10 teams.

It should be great. For our sake, Kent needs to step up on both sides of the ball, as Akron was hitting on all cylinders tonight.
