Let me go ahead and get the stirring started 05-stirthepot...

Without Vaden's hot shooting in the 2nd half, Tulsa may have handed UAB its second loss at home. Tulsa played a poor-shooting ECU team that gave them a chance to coast in the 2nd half today. Their coaches have all day to prepare for UAB. UAB and Tulsa are fairly equal when it comes to conference game stats.

It all comes down to who plays better in the Fed Ex Forum and who wants the win more... this is a scary game.
I don't like the matchup at all. I would have definitely preferred ECU. That being said, if the guys have any heart and determination left to get to the Dance they had better saddle up, get ready for war and win this game.
Although the game ended up being a blowout, ECU played with them in the first half, and I think that will come into play tomorrow..... I think if we come into this tournament with the chip on our shoulder that we should have, we win this one by 20.... We are a much better team.
I don't care who we play. We better be ready and focused. I hope we don't play tight but with a purpose.

This Tulsa fan at work is already starting up the smack.

If I recall correctly. We had our best success with AJ driving and dishing during the 2nd half.

If you are his supervisor, make him work through lunch tomorrow. And make sure that he doesn't have access to a computer as well. Why? Because you can.
This game scares me. We don't match up well with big physical teams.
Surprisingly, I'm not that worried about this one. Sure, there is always upset potential, but you can't go into a game thinking about that...unless you're the underdog. We've got to go at this thing wanting to win, not hoping to avoid defeat. There aren't many teams in this league that can expect to give Memphis a run for their money, much less beat them. So that means, that as second best, we've got the target on our back. That's cool with me, I'll take it.

I think we have an advantage because we haven't played since Saturday. That gives us an extra day of rest that we don't usually have. Regardless, of how lop-sided the score may have become, Tulsa had to play today.

We're not playing another game against Memphis...yet! Let's try and enjoy this!

If you haven't seen Jordan, I wouldn't call him physical. He is a stick. Reminds me of Keenan Ellis. He has skills but we should be able to out muscle him underneath.

Exactly. I don't recall Tulsa being very physical at Bartow. I just remember seeing a lot of long skinny arms flapping around. Jordan reminded me more of a Shawn Bradley type player.

+1 I saw the same thing as you......
Y'all are right. We aren't that athletic or physical. We will try to play physical and slow things down against you, but we don't dominate because of athleticism. "Scrappy" is probably a better word. I think your athleticism and Vaden is what beat us last week. We have our work cut out for us.

I for one respect your team and you won't find anybody on this board overlooking Tulsa. Hell, you guys lead us at halftime. Reese can flat out shoot. Jordan roams the paint. It will be a good matchup just like it was last week.

I wouldn't describe our team as extremely athletic, with the exception of AJ and Huffman (and maybe Mayfield if he would play like it sometime). Vaden, Lo, and Toney are skill players that will hurt you with fundamentals.

Vaden will also hurt you with 3 pointers from the next county.
Jordan is very agile with a great reach around the basket.. Tough guy to shoot over and gets lots of easy put-backs...

I fixed it for you 05-stirthepot

That's true too... When Vaden is outside of 25 feet, his fundamentals go out the window.

Let me clarify. Vaden will hurt you with MADE 3 pointers from the next county. I could have sworn that 3 pointer against Tulsa was from the Dragon's mouth.
UAB needs this one.......
