I just heard that the Big 12 starting next season will move there conference tourny championship on Saturday instead of the current Sunday final they have now. Kansas coach Bill Self was on ESPNU praising the Big East saying we had it right and how the Big 12 coaches and ADs all voted for a Saturday final too. His points were having an extra day of rest for the NCAA tourny teams of there league and more preperation time. I think the Big East conference has always been a leader in NCAA BB too bad we are followers in football though.

They are changing it to help them get a #1 seed. It has to do with them not getting consideration for a higher seed because of their tournament ends so late on Sunday.

This was something that was considered when the Big 12 signed their new TV contract with ESPN. ESPN said that they could start considering moving the final to Saturday.
