It's more expensive to go to the A-Sun tournament than it is the SEC women's tournament. Given the public perception of the Atlantic Sun, do they HONESTLY THINK that people are going to pay 25.00 bucks a session and fill the arena?
Hey Bucs,

Yes, I am surprised on that price. I am going to the CAA tournament and all 11 games for just $60 total. Just $10/session.

Good luck to you guys.

Goldfinger

I'm sure that the CAA tournament is at least at a nuetral site where the conference itself pays for the event. In the inescapably shabby A-sun, schools bid against each in order to see who can put up more money to host a tournament as the A-sun sits back and collects a check. ETSU lost big money on the tournament both years.

I'd rather lose the first day in the Southern Conference Tournament than to go to the sleep-fest they call the A-sun tournament. I've never seen a less exciting tournament. But then again I've never been to Arbys.
Bless you Goldfinger!

Goldfinger

What did I say?
You've never seen a less exciting tournament- but then again you've never been to the Arby's.

I am simply amazed at how the local media promotes this piece of sh1t.

And that's what it is.

Oh, well I have no love for high school basketball and have an outright hatred for all things science hill that dates back to my stay there...which just happened to take place during Leforce's last season while seemingly every local moron and their brother was advocating George Pitts to take over the ETSU job.

What a mistake that would of been.
Especially when you look at the great candidates Fry brought in!

Why hasn't Keener Fry received more credit for this?
Gold, can I at least have your support for my Oak Ridge Wildcats vs Science Hill this Monday in the state tournament, and the Lady Wildcats vs Morristown West on Sat?

Oh BTW, I think I get it now....is the Big Nine the same thing as the 3A Region 1, District 1? We just call them districts/regions down this way.
I don't know.

All I know is that there are seven basketball teams in that conference that do not matter.

And that Science Hill, despite putting ALL of their eggs in the basketball basket, was 0 for 4 against Dobyns-Bennett.

And that, in keeping with basketball tradition, a player got kicked out of Science Hill for having a gun in his car.

And that despite going 0 for 4 against Dobyns-Bennett, the Hilltoppers are SOMEHOW still playing!!!!

Really, isn't there SOMETHING we can do other than have high school basketball teams?

Can't we do away with them? PLEASE????????

Yes it is. But folks on CAAZONE.com who are not VCU fans constantly bellyache that it is in Richmond every year. But only Richmond and Norfolk put legit bids. And Richmond is the most centrally located spot although not enamored with the Richmond Coliseum. But still an improvement over the Norfolk Scope.

I am a season ticket holder of Old Dominion and though the CAA is not my alma mater conference (C-USA), it is GREAT hoops. Especially for a home-away-from-home person like myself. They're at 12, so I don't see expansion, but it would be great if the Bucs would someday soon attain CAA membership. That is, if y'all would want it.

Over two years, I lived in both Atlanta and Jacksonville and went to Kennesaw State games as well as JU and North Florida, the junkie that I am. I enjoyed KSU games more than GA State due to the arena and atmosphere -- GA State needs a new arena badly.

UNF games were only $5/game so that was very nice. I thought the A-Sun was fun, but not the fun of the CAA as their rivalries are much more intense and cohensive in distance geographically.

Best of luck to y'all in the tournament. I have family in Erwin, and y'all, along with UTC & APSU are my favorite other schools in TN.
