We recieved 1 vote to get in the top 25 this week! We are getting somewhere lol. if we beat UTEP, which will be tough, we will be even closer to the top 25. Keep up the hard work blazers!

Yeah... he had us as the last team in at the last update... and we still are now... only difference is before it was (12) UAB vs (5) Washington State in Denver. Now they have (13) UAB vs (4) UConn in Tampa.
Either way, it's all just talk at this point. UAB's got to continue to fight and claw their way back into the thick of things. It's unfortunate that they let a few slip away here and there earlier this season. We wouldn't be where we are if that had been the case. But several times under CMA, UAB was up against the wall and managed to do just enough to get in the tournament. Hopefully we can do that once again this time.
As far as the votes in the poll, that's nice as well. Anyone remember the last time we received votes in the poll? Was it at the end of the 2006 NCAA tournament?
I agree MB, Focus on Taco casa u. All that crap is nice but doesn't mean squat. Beat UTEP and the more we are talked about and on people's minds the better. TCOB!
I agree I just wanted to point out that we are starting to get a little recognition. But yes we must take care of business Wednesday night.

Actually we're not #43 but I would Rod Smith explained that to you. Right now getting ranked this late in the season doesn't mean a whole lot. I would like to continue flying under the radar and taking programs by surprise.
UAB will not have this luxury next season.

I'd have to say that being in the top 25 around this time of the year would actually mean something. I don't know, but when was the last top 25 team left out of the big dance? It very well could have been last year. Just saying as a bubble team being in the top 25 would probably go a long way to getting us one of those spots.

This is exactly my point. We KNOW that UAB needs to beat UTEP. We KNOW that polls are mostly useless. Honestly in the grand scheme of things basketball itself is useless. However, since none of us are on the basketball team, flapping of our gums in lieu of practicing actual basketball is not going to affect the game one little bit, so, why go on about "Oh this doesn't matter, stop discussing, just win". No point in even having a message board in that case.

The good thing when you are a top 25 teams , the name of your school flash at the bottom of the screen every 15 minutes in many channels and that it is good
