What a difference a game can make. We are now ranked 29 and our projected RPI is 23. If we stay there we could be a 7-9 seed.
I'm not sure I want Kent to get a 7, 8, 9, or 10 seed. If that happens, then the Flashes are looking at facing a No. 1 or No. 2 seed in the second round if they advance. Assuming Lunardi's mock bracket with regard to the 1 and 2 seeds comes to pass, I don't see an "Alabama" in that group of teams. Having said that, if Kent did get a 7 or 10 seed, I'd love to see Xavier in that bracket as a No. 2. Could you imagine if Columbus was hosting 1st- and 2nd-round games this season and Kent and Xavier were placed in that pod as the 7/10 and 2 seeds?
I doubt the committee would set up that potential matchup considering they already played this year. I know they don't look beyond the second round as far as matchups, but I am pretty sure they try to avoid repeat games in the first and second rounds.

Right. That was wishful thinking on my part. However, on rare occasions, a potential repeat matchup in the second round can't be avoided. In the 2006 Tournament, (5) Nevada played (12) Montana in the first round. The winner of that game was slated to play the winner of (4) Boston College and (13) Pacific. Had Nevada and Pacific both won, they would've faced each other in the second round in a rematch of their game earlier in the season (won by Nevada).
