For a long time, I have touted this board as being a major player in the Tri-Cities sports landscape.

We have more balls than all of the so-called professional journalists, we get more posters than the talk shows get callers and we provide a majority of their show prep and story ideas, and we accurately record the feelings of the Bucs fans both locally and nationally.

And by we, I do not mean the delusions that so many posters on here use when speaking of the Bucs that takes away from their credibility.

I mean the "royal we."

And I'm justified in doing so. I created this board, after all.

But regardless, we still have people on here who just don't like my style that search in vain to put me down. They say I should start a blog (and give up the give and take?), they say I can't cut it in the real world (uh, no. Five years at the Post-Gazette proves otherwise. I just won't play the little games the rest of the media around here does), or they post out and out blantant lies about my character or actions.

BUT NOW- ALL YOU IDIOTS HAVE BEEN REFUTED!!!!

Ladies and Gentleman- THE ELIZABETHTON STAR HAS LINKED TO US!

http://estarsports.wordpress.com/

Yes, the Elizabethton Star, which features the best Appalachian League coverage in the market, has recognized THIS BOARD as the place to talk Bucs.

My personal thanks to Sports Editor Wes Holtsclaw and whoever the web designer is over there and all other parties involved!
Wow and who knows, maybe someday even the Johnson City News Sentinnel, I mean, Press will link to here!
Screw that. Let the BHC link to us.

We give them all their story ideas.

And yes, I do mean the royal we.
Mother of God Wes... Surely you and Jim have better things to do man! I know Jim does!
Marky, thanks for the pub. I'll admit, I like to read this site every now and then and gauge everyone's interests -- so giving the board a link was the least I could do.

Buclover, I'm actually doing the blog on my own since we've been having technical difficulties with our new system and the website. We haven't been able to get sports stories on, so I started the blog to do that and put some other notebooks and things on there. I'm going to put the remainder of our prep hoops stuff and spring sports previews on there for those who haven't been able to get on the website. On the flip side, I've been wanting to blog for awhile since we can't be too critical and opinionated in the paper a lot of times. That's where newspapers are going and I think it's crazy if I don't jump on it now. It'll be fun.
I agree with you on the blogs and that's where newspapers are going, incidentily.

But what is the deal with the Star's website?
Well in that case that can go, but pubbing this board is a bad idea. I guess you'll have to get Jim and the other Wes cranked up on that site man! Less time at the Cowboy, more time on the MAC!
Care to translate that post for the rest of us?

We went to InCopy and InDesign - the whole Mediaspan software package - and had a brand new website ready to launch with the new products, but there was one big problem - they weren't getting stories to post and we weren't being able to post online whenever we wanted.

Like for say, as soon as we did a story - it would be up on the website if it was breaking, etc. like Bristol does.

So, to make a long story short, they had to go back to the old website and it takes so long to dig the stories up - they are just posting the news stuff until they can get it all figured out.

Thus, the blog. lol.
