Another road embarrasement on ESPN no less! Team certainly didn't come to play tonight. Anyone know why Ramsey sat Medlock the last 8-9 mins? Medlock didn't have a good game but neither did anyone else.

Dodd if he wasen't exposed prior to this game certainly was exposed tonight. Reitz made him look really bad! Boy do we need help going into next year.

This game is not really a surprise at all. WMU is one of the top two or three teams in the MAC mix that with how Eastern could lose to anyone on the road and you get tonights outcome.

I am not going to get that down on this team because I believe they have overachieved this year more then anything considering they do not have that much talent on the roster. (No Bowdry)

EMU could still run the table the rest of the year with

SE Missouri State (Home)
Ball State (Home)
Toledo (Away)
NIU (Home)
They just threw up the 3 too many times and weren't making a lot of shots.
I wish I could predict the stock market like MAC hoops. 03-cloud9

USA Today had the line at 11 1/2 points, best team in the MAC West at home.

Does EMU win on the road or lose at home? Rarely.

Shame on anyone who thought EMU could win this game. It would have been nice to be in Vegas tonight.

"bold" prediction: EMU to beat BSU and NIU at the Convo. And lose to UT at Toledo.

No surprise Reitz made Dodd look like a high school player. The beginning of the game was downright brutal.

Dobbins had a Dobbins game. Fouled out with 11 minutes of game action.

WMU's Gary made some great hightlight plays (for anyone who didn't see the game). Michael Reghi was lobbying the truck to get SportsCenter to show the highlight block.
It would be nice if some MAC players do like Freer transfer to D-II.

Freer is playing decent for Grand Valley who is undefeated, I believe, in D-II.

Dodd, quite frankly, would be a good fit at that level. GLIAC isn't noted for height.

Farris was ticketed to a GLIAC school before Ramsey came calling (after Freer left for GVSU).

Cooper too? Could have a good career at that level.
The game was over as soon as ESPNU showed the starting lineups. As soon as I saw Dodd vs. Reitz, I changed the channel. The first five buckets by Reitz were simply giveaways, while the hook over Dobbins was a very nice play.

I am in agreement with Steve in regards to the proper level of play some of the players on our roster should seek. Doesn't seem to be a real future in the MAC for guys like Cooper, Dodd and Farris. If I were the coach and I'm not, I'd sit down with some of these players and discuss their immediate futures.

It appears that our recruiting has been finalized for this year but we still need help ASAP. Lets face it, some of the players on the current roster are not MAC Level players.

Who besides Medlock will shoot the ball next year? As the PG and leader of the team, Medlock should forst of all concentrate on getting others involved. Although Jump Shooters are up and down, the loss of Bunkley and Axon needs to be addressed as well as some muscle help up front.

Lets hope EMU can win or at least be competitive the remainder of this season and start building for next. Puzzles me why Farris never plays?

I think Cooper has a good chance of being a real contributor to the team because of his athletisism. He'll never be a big scorer but he could be a good role player.

As for shooters, I wouldn't be surprised if Medlock plays a little SG next year when LJ is in as PG. From what I remember, Bowdry is a decent shooter and I suspect Green and Barnes are as well. The team will look different next year because they should have very good depth in the front court.
I agree with Nickle:

we will have two legitimate big men (Dobbins and Bowdry), plus two promising young big men. While you don't rely on freshmen centers and power forwards for a lot, you can expect 5-8 productive minutes out of each of them. Dodd can at least run the floor and give good effort, and who knows, he could end up being ok by the end of his career. he is still young.

I also agree that Cooper will be a good role player during his career here. Our big concern will be ball handling and shooting. Hopefully Barnes will be ready to play big minutes as a freshman. That would help a ton. Plus, I think we will get 10 pts. a game from Gay.

I'm not saying we are going to light the world on fire next season, but we should field a team that can compete for the MAC West championship.
