To quote her...."For the first time in my adult life I am proud of America."

This from a possible First Lady. Don't do us poor dumb Americans any favors Michelle.
FTR, that's not the correct quote.....03-idea

Neither is that 100 year war quote the Obama camp keeps using on McCain.

Politics of hope my ass.

What was the correct quote?

Not being a wiseass, just asking because this is the first I've heard of any of this.
I would be curious what the quote was as well.

As of right now NOBODY knows what Obama stands for. He makes strong speeches (sometimes stolen) but as this thing goes forward we will see what he truly believes. Whether fair or not the quotes from his wife will go a long way toward his electability. She will essentially be elected as well.

If she is really embarrassed to be a American then maybe she should leave.
Hell, I've been less than proud to be an American for a long time. Thanks to scurrilous leadership, such as the Clinton's, and the eroding of the foundation of a very promising country. I volunteered and fought under the U. S flag. Almost every male in my family has worn a U. S. military uniform at some time, many in combat. My parents and grandparents are burried in this country. Where am I supposed to go to evade what I see that is wrong. Why should I not stay and stand up for what I think is proper? Obama is not my choice, but he and his family deserve the right to advocate for what they think is good.
Google is a wonderful thing.

Quote:“What we have learned over this year is that hope is making a comeback. It is making a comeback and let me tell you something, For the first time in my adult lifetime, I am really proud of my country. And not just because Barack has done well, but because I think people are hungry for change. I have been desperate to see our country moving in that direction and just not feeling so alone in my frustration and disappointment. I have seen people who are hungry to be unified around some basic common issues. It has made me proud.”

What it sounds like to me is that she sucks at PC speak and just puts her foot in her mouth.

She just needs to shut up and let her husband do the campaigning.
Here is the exact quote of what she said. Not a very smart move on her part.

"Hope is making a comeback and, let me tell you, for the first time in my adult life, I am proud of my country"
She really annoys me, and while you're not voting for First Lady, they do tell you something about the candidate. She has been as negative as Bill Clinton, but the media's let her off on it.

And her false populism is just unreal...high school at an elite magnet school in Chicago, Princeton, Harvard Law; job at a Top 100 law firm and now a counsel for the Univ of Chicago Hospital.

I like Barack, but I really don't like her. She doesn't do the straight-talk thing very well...Teresa Kerry was much better at speaking her mind and saying what the American people were thinking. Michelle doesn't seem to do that; instead she just has foot-in-mouth syndrome.
Here is an analysis of the quote....

Michelle Obama

I'm no Obama fan, but I'm not really sure why folks would take issue with this quote...especially when it is read correctly in and context.....
Sorry, no matter how you spin it, it was a stupid thing to say. She is 44 and her adult life began at 18, so for 26 years she has been unhappy with America.
Not unhappy. Proud. There is a difference. And, I might add, what makes her proud does not have the same effect on me. But, none of the leading candidates offer anything that makes me proud.
Here's what will make me PROUD:

Keeping her ungrateful @ss and socialist husband out of the White House. Then she'll have plenty of time to revisit her rich, pompous schools and declare how ashamed she is of her country yet again.

Not sure at all how you get that from the quote in context, but if it makes you happy to think that, oh well.....03-drunk

Amen to that brotha!! The media is giving a huge pass on this Obama character and really slamming Mrs. Clinton. No, I am not a Hillary fan at all, but it appears that the media has already taken sides. Mr. Obama is a smooth talker but his policies will be horrible for this country, what policies you ask?? Socialist policies.
All the Dems are spewing socialist garbage. I don't know which is worse - what we allready have or what we might get. Both are pretty pathetic.

Wish I had said that.

Huh? We all do. He stands for change and he's got, like, electrolytes and stuff.
I don't like Obama, but we're mincing words here. It's obvious she out-rhetoriced herself. No one here honestly believes this is the first time she's been "proud." That said, I hope her husband loses.
