According to Dave Woloshin (voice of the tigers on radio) on his morning talk show (sports) in Memphis, Calipari while going to the interview room - mistakingly walked into the Booster room at the arena - the doors are apparently near each other - immediately as he entered a booster - harassed him with profanity and ethnic/racial slurs.

Trying to stir the pot a bit, are we?
Before or after throwing a cup of urine at him?

please leave, 'cause
most of us don't fn care what memphians think (they do think, don't they?) anymore.
Trying to put your head in the sand. It is what it is, no reason for Dave to lie. According to what I just heard - the Birmingham Newspaper is following up on this story.

John Cheney is a UAB booster? Who knew?
By the way, great game. Keep recuiting hard and keep up the great coaching. You guys will get there soon. I have faith you will get into the field of 65 soon - maybe not this year but soon. Keep the faith.

I confess

IT WAS ME05-stirthepot

memphis posters happy
now go home
Totally, and I mean TOTALLY uncalled for. Calapari did nothing but bring a #1 ranked team in to our place and beat our best effort.

I'm very proud of our team, coaches and most of the fans/students at the game, but actions like this one, and the trash throwers, players taunting fans as they leave, players reaching into the stands to slap a drunk idiot fan, ect. make me want to puke.

I don't know if Memphis is classier than they displayed Sat. night, and don't really care...........but I know that we are classier than what was displayed by a few who wore the green and gold.

I couldn't agree more. I'm confident we'll address the situation.

and it's time for UM fans to let this go.
AND go home.

btw
by what has been previously posted by UM fans, I'm not convinced THIS incident happened as reported.

The voice of the Memphis Tigers - Dave Woloshin on Sports 56 WHBQ - just stated what was posted. It is what it is. Dont run from what happened.

I'm not sure it happened as well, since Woloshin is also reporting the cups of urine was thrown as well.

I am.
It did happen as reported. (The Calapari thing)

Dave reported he heard that happened - which by the way is a common thing with student secitons now a days - apparently happens a lot.

Its better to find that booster and correct the challenge rather than run from the responsibility and have it happen again. Gene Bartow, whom I know personally would not in any way allow that booster to come back to a game if he found out who he was. I can guarantee you that.

Good enough for me. Someone needs his potty mouth washed out.

With this:

I know the "Green and Gold" Room is under the south stands on the opposite side of the building from the locker rooms which are under the north stands. What "Booster Room" is under the north stands? I thought it was storage or athletic training equipment rooms.
This is starting to get ridiculous. Don't start any crap until you have verified, reliable sources. Just like the "broken nose" from the whiskey bottle, I haven't seen word one in any media outlets about it. I guarantee if a Memphis player had a broken nose from anything thrown from the stands, it'd be headline news at ESPN.com.

And why the christ should we be held responsible for what one g-d person does? Memphis can't even keep their players under control, and UAB is supposed to control people who don't work for the University?
He walked in there but there was NO racial slur or profanity. There was a small exchange though. There was witnesses. Those Memphis people are milking this crap for all it's worth.

I guess it's ok the Memphis players were running around cursing the crowd and some of our boosters. (I personally saw this) and Dorsey threatened one of our boosters. I don't think he will press charges but I witnessed that one as well.
That's not the Green and Gold room. Must be the room for our "super boosters". (this room was formally part of the media room so I can see how the room mix up could occur.) To get into that room you have to fork over aprox. $50,000 or more to get in. Our booster probably told Cal to pay up or get out. Cal shouldn't take it personal as the same booster would have had me thrown out.
