Here is an ESPN article. There is also a thread on the NIU forum.

I assume the bracket buster game won't be made up.

Will NIU try to make up the men's basketball games?

It would be I assume 6 games in two weeks before the MAC tourney.

(the regular season only has 2 weeks to run starting Feb 25).

Very nice of the CHI Blackhawks to wear the NIU ribbon on their helmets this week. Very nice. 04-bow

We are kind of assuming that the bracketbuster game will be completely cancelled and try to make up the MAC game(s) missed. The BB game has no meaning for us. If we were on the bubble, it may be one thing but that isn't the case. I think they have just been using the wrong term which should be postponed.
BB game could be played 25th. WM can be played the 28th. I would think that there would be alot of intrest in BB game, As country would be intrested in watching NoILL start to move on & return to normal.
I think the game against WMU could be dropped because WMU is pretty much a lock for the 2 seed, unless Kent looses a bunch of games and Western wins the rest. Then that game could be the difference between a 1 and a 2 seed. The Toledo game on the other hand, probably needs to be played because of seeding. There is a week between the Bracket Buster and the final 3 regular season games. I think Toledo could accommodate NIU and play that Wednesday (February 27) That assumes no other activities are scheduled for Savage Hall and since there's construction going on, I sort of doubt there is. What is the high school tourney schedule looking like? This discussion may seem insensitive, but unless NIU intends to drop athletic events for the year, they're going to have to start making plans.

Could they reschedule the games for Tuesday and Thursday that week? It would obviously be unsympathetic to make them forfeit, but these are conference games and they need to be played at some point.

This isn't the week before the MAC tournament. They have two full weeks to fit in two games. I think they can do it.

Does anyone know how long Virginia Tech's teams took off last spring. I didn't see it mentioned in the story. I thought they might start playing in the middle of this week.
