With Patrick Ewing Jr doing so well at Georgetown, it got me thinking about the sons of former players at my school. We haven't fared so well so far. Derek Smith's son signed with Duke and Milt wagner's son went to Memphis. Derek passed and so his influence was missing on his son and Milt was trying to get a job so he and his son were a package deal. But we have two more opportunities coming soon. Jeff Hall has a son who is a sophomore and Tony Kimbro has a son who is a freshman. Someone asked for info in another post so here goes. And others, feel free to talk about son's of former players who have signed with your school.
Like father, like son

Remember Jeff Hall?
Yes, the former University of Louisville standout that played his high school ball at Fairview High School in Ashland more than 25 years ago.

Well, Hall has a son that suits up for Fairview's varsity basketball team and as a sophomore the 6-foot Cameron Hall is the team's leading scorer.

Hall, who played last sumer for the Derek Smith All-Stars traveling team, averages 20.8 points a game. Fairview is 12-7 on the season.

From the three-point line, Hall has made 31 of 76 attempts, while he's a Jeff Hall-like smooth 81 percent (81 of 100) from the free-throw line.

Jeff Hall averaged double figures his final two seasons at U of L, including his senior year when the Cardinals won the NCAA title. He was picked in the sixth round of the NBA Draft.

He has coached at several places over the years, including Fern Creek, Allen County, Rose Hill and Ashland. And is now an assistant at Fairview.

Tony Kimbro Jr. of Manual - yes, he's the next big thing. The 6-foot-4 freshman turned in a sensational run at the LIT as Manual won the title. In four games, Kimbro finished with 48 points, 37 rebounds and 16 assists. He had a triple-double - 12 points, 12 rebounds and 13 assists - on Friday in the quarterfinals against Jeffersontown.

Here are a few observations about prospects at the LIT.
The best of the bunch this week has been Manual freshman Tony Kimbro Jr. He had a triple-double Friday against Jeffersontown and led his team with 16 points in the semifinals.

The very-athletic Kimbro is making moves towards the basket that you only see big-time players make. He's legitimizing himself as the No. 1 freshman in the state in my mind.

Kimbro can pull off a first if he's named MVP. It would be the first time a father and son won the award. Tony Kimbro Sr. was the MVP in 1985.

Manual also has a talented senior guard in Aaron Williams, the brother of Kimbro Jr.
