Future Notre Dame Football Schedules

Here is the latest look at future football schedules, including a snapshot of the last three years of our current five-year agreement with NBC Sports (2006-2010) – and another look at all other games that have been confirmed (and some that are tentative).

These schedules represent a combination of a commitment to the BIG EAST Conference (ideally, three games per year, 2011-2016), as well as our own financial and competitive interest in playing seven home games (every year from 2009 on). This latest look includes the addition of a 12th game for most seasons (that began in 2006), based on NCAA legislation that was approved in April 2005

I've noticed that ND tiptoes widely around the better teams. UC, UConn, and Rutgers one game apiece, and no WVU. Lots of Pitt and Syracuse, presently lesser teams in the conference, although those games could be harder than expected when played. BC doesn't count in The BEast, and I have yet to see 3 BEasts in the same year. Is ND expecting Navy to be invited? Or is this some kind of creative math the Vatican has come up with?
I see UConn, Pitt and Rutgers in the same year several times. I guess ND still thinks those games will happen.

p.s I don't believe the Vatican has anything to do with new math or ND football schedules. :)

The ND-Pitt series goes way back. ND's fifth most played opponent is Pitt. Did you not expect Pitt to be part of ND's '3 games against BE teams' committment?
I presume you mean *BYE* games, and not *BUY* games, although it certainly seems like Notre Dame's got the cash to buy just about anybody they'd like to come to South Bend...

USFFan
I still don't see 3 teams from The BEast in ONE single year. Show me the math that shows those schedules working out to playing 3 BEasts per year. I'd like to see it.

Then you shouldn't call it Notre Dame's Big East "commitment", it's just Notre Dame's on-going series with Pittsburgh, who happens to be in the Big East. Truthfully, I couldn't care less about playing Notre Dame anymore. UC is playing Virginia Tech and Ohio State and shcools like that, so Notre Dame and Pitt can have their series. I don't consider it part of the Big East package though, I just consider it a Pitt/Notre Dame series.
I think you crunched the bits from your brain?

011 3/4BE

013 4BE
014 3BE
015 3BE

Ironic how 2011, right when spitt would take place, 3 games pop up. 2014 when TV contract is up, BE might get 4 games.
Thanks for posting Terry.

Why would we, and USF for that matter, schedule a game vs. UND, WITHOUT a return game? Every other BCS conference team ND schedules includes a return date. It had better be a BOATLOAD of money involved.

The Big East is still being criticzed in the media (although in more of a subtle manner than in years past) as a borderline mid-major. Games like this only serve to reinforce the stereotype 03-banghead

Why cancel Georgia if we're going to do this?

It's not part of any 'package.' If it was, we got screwed again by ND. But it's no 'package.'

Frankly, I see no advantage for anyone but Notre Dame in our alliance.

RC Johnson would do more than 'lick' for an invite into the BigEast...

03-lmfao Would he, ahem ... 'go all the way?' 03-lmfao
I notice Louisville's no where to be seen. Well, hopefully Jurich didn't want to go for a one and done, or couldn't get a neutral site. Personally, I smell fear. BWAHAHAHA!

Afraid not, we wouldnt except a deal without a return game. Only the irish cares, everyone is still laughing at them.

The once great ND said 3 Big East games per year, I don't see that unless this nd poster is full of $hit which could be the case. If they reneg on their promise, they should be voted out of Conference. If MT had some balls, he would dictate the rules to ND. Playing UConn in Foxboro is BS it's just another college FB game.

So Memphis would turn down a one and done with Notre Dame in football? I find that hard to believe.

we did about two years ago. we need seven home games a year, and the one non conference away game is usually against a team we care about playing(UT, Ole Miss, Mississippi St, Arkansas State)>
