Did Longstreet move to rb?

That is what Tommy said yesterday.
I think Longstreet to RB is a very interesting move...I thought they might try to move him to DB...

I also expect a couple more position changes before the season starts...7 guys on the DL were either signed, offered or commited to BCS schools...
I missed that Randy. Did he play rb in HS? What were his stats running the ball?

Thanks for the list!

Only two things:
They signed Malcolm Jones as a DB, but played him as LB last year. Has he really moved back to DB? Also, who is Mike Evans DB and when did he join the team?
What about LB Todd Cox?
Do we have enough receivers?
You know, on paper, our defensive line doesn't look half bad. And then the games will start. . .and we're not very good.

he was listed as WR on gotigersgo.com, so that's where I am putting him...

I think one receiver, if not two, will be converted somewhere along the way...as it is, we lose Mo Jones, Robizine, E-Will and Black after this season, so we do lose a lot of the guys who make the catches...we retain Duke and Carlos, so some of the young guys will have to come on...

figures - you're too busy tiptoeing through the tulips...
your missing a kicker on your list, his name is Omar, he moved here from Africa, he is participating in spring workouts/practice
Hoop, you got more time on your hands than me to put this list together and I thought I had a lot. I had no idea we had that many receivers on the team.
What's the deal on Antonio McCoy? This is his senior year but you didn't have him listed... is he still on the team?
It is not that our defensive line is not good. With the defensive schemes that we run, it depends more on linebacker play than that of the DL. Look back to our defenses when they were highly rated. We had to have both, good DL and LB to be as highly rated as we were. I think some people will say "wow, our DL has gotten better this year" if we are able to keep healthly LBs next year. It won't be that the DL has gotten much better, but that in our scheme it will show much better results.

I am not saying the D-line isn't any good but there is something wrong there. When you look at your D-line there is only one stat that separate them from the LBs and that is sacks. We were next to last in C-USA in sacks with 15. Why? It wasn't the LBs fault. Everything starts at the line of scrimmage. This is where the battles are won or lost. The New York Giants showed that having an active, disrupting defensive front controlling the line of scrimmage is what makes a Defense produce. A good D-line applying pressure will make a QB do one of three things, 1)fumble 2)interception 3)sack and if they can do this, they can also put pressure on the running backs. I feel the problem may lie in knowing gap assignments not in lack of talent. Which is why I applaud Tim Walton hiring and Culpepper and Holloway signings. Make a note, I foresee mark improvement in our defense,
But, look at the New England defense. It is predicated on the DL doing little but clearing the path for the linebackers to make the plays. I believe the stat was that they only accounted for less than 25% of their teams sacks. While NY won the Super Bowl, it had little to do with overall domination by their defense.

While I would LOVE to have a DL like the Giants, it probably isn't going to happen. Even when we had our more dominating defenses in the past, it was more built on the play of both the DL and LB groups being able to work together. With that said, I am very happy about the direction of our defense. I think people will be VERY pleased about the defense next year and I don't think it will be attributed to who all we signed this year (although I think they will contribute).
