Mallet the Ex Michigan Starting qb.. is requesting from the NCAA a waiver so he doesnt have to sit out this year.. I bet he gets it based on how douchie the NCAA is..

No way he gets it or should get it.
I agree it sucks.. but he knew at the beginning of the season and when he was being recruited that barring a miracle Carr was out.. I hope the NCAA doesnt give in on this..
Too many negative implications if this goes through. Even the NCAA is not dumb enough to allow this.
I don't understand. The coach that recruited him is no longer with the school. He should not be penalized for leaving. Him and his family couldn't just assume that Carr was out. They couldn't predict home losses to App St. and a pounding by Oregon. If Carr wins those games he might not be out. Those two wins would not have been miracles. I doubt that Carr and the others at Michigan told him to come to Michigan and paly b/c Carr won't be hear next season.
Everyone knew Carr was gone no matter what. Besides, all transfers must sit out unless something horrible happens (see Tyler Smith). Transferring just because your coach retires is not good enough to play immediately.
While it would be nice to see this rule changed for coaching moves, the NCAA can't cave. If so, that will open a flood of players transferring because they now don't feel they fit the system, etc. The rule is in place and they can't waiver for one player.
If the NCAA allowed this to go through it would in efffect change the transfer rules. ANYTIME you change coaches you have a different system, even if it is just a small difference. This would say that if a coach leaves you are free to leave without having to sit out a year. You can argue wether or not the rule should be changed but there's no way the NCAA changes the rule based on one appeal.
