 but I just have to ***** about this one. Coach Brown and his staff have done a great job of bringing UAB to the point that we have the talent and coaching to play with any team in the country, but one thing drives me to distraction. When Brown gets a few touchdowns ahead, he is either too nice, too conservative, or simply lacks the necessary killer instinct to put an opponent away - permanently. Tonight, as usual when we got a big lead, instead of going for the jugular, Brown goes conservative and tries to run out the clock. In the second half, JSU was unable to stop an all out Hack attack and Darrell is simply too savvy to throw an interception. There was little risk, so why not turn him loose, let him pad his passing statistics, and put the game securely out of reach. Watson should take lessons from the Ole Coach. And what is that crap about taking Hackney out late in the game and playing all those subs when JSU hadn't given up on winning the game. That almost got us beat. Even though we were able to salvage the game, the late JSU heroics made us look bad. Anyone who attended that game knows deep down that JSU should have had no chance of winning that game, but the score sure won't indicate that, especially with them trying to And one more thing, enough with scheduling 1AA teams. It is a no win situation. Players, despite their posturing, can’t get up for the game. Beat them by 50, and you should be picking on someone your own size. Lose to them, or even let them get close, and you look like crap.

UAB went to an almost entirely running game... if you know UAB football, you'd know that's not typical of us. When we're going for the score, we're not typically going to try to get points on the ground. We were just trying to salt away the victory. If we had a killer instinct, we would have kept with the passing game.
Like I stated before, we always play to our opponets level.
We play Southern Cal next week , we look like Southern Cal also. and vice versa.
We played down to Tulane and USF's level last year... but we were on the losing end of it. At least we actually won tonight. I'll take that over a loss any day.
05-nono Then, you were paying attention.
I agree with Cajun. We should never have let the Gamechickens come back. This game was too close for comfort. We should have beat the living heck out of the Chickens.
Incredible that we let "Them CHickens" score 21 points in the 4th.

Wow! I didn't think I would ever see the day when Cajun would criticize a UAB coach. It must have really been bad.

If only Hackney's behind was swollen up and giving him a lot of pain...then he wouldn't have been able to sit out.
