per Andy Katz on ESPN.com ~
"Midnight Madness can now tip five hours earlier after the NCAA board of directors approved a change in the start of men's basketball practice.
Beginning on Oct. 14, 2005, men's basketball teams can start practicing at 7 p.m. local time."

I'd skip the football game to go see the basketball team play a meaningless intrasquad scrimmage right about now.
I'm still hoping against hope that we're saving all the good plays for the conference games. However, I'm seriously starting to have my doubts.
There has not been a single big offensive touchdown play the entire season... Reggie had at least two of his own by this time last season.

Back on topic... I bet Midnight Madness would have a big turnout at 7pm on a Saturday bye week.

Based on the Andy Katz blurb, my guess is teams will do it on Friday, Oct. 14, since they start their official practice on the 15th.

In good news today from New Orleans, it appears that the strom and flooding did about $500 worth of improvements to Fogelman Arena.
