Looks like coach Shannon to interview for OC job at Marshall ..

With Minter's hiring likely looming, Snyder's lone remaining vacancy will be quickly addressed. Toledo offensive coordinator John Shannon will interview for the same position at Marshall today in Huntington.

Shannon has served three seasons as Toledo's offensive coordinator and five years overall with the Rockets. His spread offense fits well with Marshall's current scheme, and Shannon's recruiting roots in Ohio and Kentucky high schools and junior colleges in Mississippi and California also parallel the Herd's philosophy.

Wow, Toledo might want to give him a pay-raise so they don't lose him to another non-BCS team that went 3-9 last season and hasn't had a winning season in a while.

That was it. Ironically we did fire the cannon a lot in 2007, and people still weren't satisfied. Go figure!

I kind of wondered about this given Toledo's lack of offense in the recent past. He still has to be better than what we had. Under Keuck Marshall averaged 22pts/game and was ranked in the lower 1/3 in all offense categories. Maybe you guys can hire Keuck, according to our AD he is good enough to be a head coach.
This doesn't surprise me at all. Toledo has been down the past few years and it shouldn't surprise anyone that efforts are being made to right the ship.

I don't think their 20th ranked offense was the problem last season. I'd blame injuries, their defense, and Amstutz.

Shannon will not be missed.
His play calling cost the University of Toledo too many games.
