BSU is up at Ohio by 9 near the end of the 1st half... 03-shhhh
12 point lead at the half!!!

02-13-banana
Down to 6... Ohio has finally figured out that they have a mismatch inside. 6-1 foul differential as a result. They did a LOT of jacking up 3s in the first half... BSU 0-5 this half from 3 (after 6-7 in the first half) isn't helping either.
03-puke
up by 7 around the 9 minute mark...
Down to 5... 7ish left.

down to 3... 6:30 left.

back up to 5... 6ish left.

down to 1...

Malik with a bucket and a foul! under 5 to go...

Leon cuts it to 1 again... 4 to go
3:31 to play... BSU at the line... can't hit a throw...

travel on Ohio... still 1 point... 3ish left

51-50 OU... less than 3

53-51 OU at 2:09. Cards 4-10 from FT in the half (with many misses on front ends).

Leon with a steal and a dunk 55-51.

55-53 on Goins bucket. 1:29

Leon again. 57-53 90 ticks.

Bucket and fouled for Newell! 57-55 OU. 36 ticks.

57-56 after Newell bucket.

Quick foul... OU with a FT. and another. 59-56.

Newell for 3!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 22 left and all tied up 59-59!

OU with a bucket at 4 ticks!

Newell misses at the buzzer. 61-59 final. OU wins. Great game, but bad result (at least for my guys...).
Quiet everyone, Central beating Akron 45-42 13:00 to play
That was a good sign for BSU to come into the Convo and play Ohio tough in front of a vocal crowd of 10,000 fans.
Give him some height and some depth and in a couple of years Taylor will build a contender...
Yeah, I came away very impressed by the Cardinals. They get everything they can with what they have, and I was sure we weren't going to pull that out.

They were literally triple teaming Leon whenever he got the ball in the first half.
Its a shame that Tillman and Orr didn't come to play today. Ohio is not getting a complete effort from all its starters every nite. If teams are triple covering Leon, then Tillman and Orr need to make that they pay.
Remind me who made the game-winning shot again.
Ohio was beyond lucky that Stovall didn't have a good game...Newell will generally score around 20, but the last two games, Stov's got 7 apiece, and we've lost them both by 4 points...Oh well...

On a related note, what the hell was with that "losing team/winning team" BS at the end of the game? I realize I'm biased, but is it not good enough to just win? No need to put down the other team in the process...
That is their — I mean, UCLA's — trademark. It makes them feel good despite nearly being embarassed by a bad team on their home floor.
ball state is not a bad team, just a short one with average talent and little depth. they play hard, execute pretty well, and are well coached. and, yeah, taylor will have them pushing for the mac west title within 2 years
Ball State without Newell is an outmaned team. With Newell, they are a lot better and very competitive. Ball State outplayed and out hustled Ohio today. The difference was that Williams refused to let Ohio blow this game and its post season hopes in front of 10,000 fans. Ball State tought the Bobcats that they have to do more than just show up. Had this game been in Muncie Ohio would have limped home with a double digit loss. Ohio needs to come more motivated.
I don't care who they have and don't have. A 3-15 team who hasn't won on the road is a bad team. OU should just be happy they won. Near losses are not a category used to determine postseason tournament berths.

Anthony Newell didn't play in 9 of the losses. He went for 29 and 10 in the second game in the season (a loss in OT to UW-Milwaukee), and then returned to action onDecember 31st...We're a much tougher team to handle with him as opposed to without him...Clearly our best player at this point in the season...

Ours is pretty different than UCLA's. And nice words. Ball State played us much tougher than Kent did.
