The recruit Scherrer is ranked 103.

Either Dennis or the recruiting gurus are way off on this kid.

Dennis is promoting him as the best thing since 1 dollar a gallon gasoline yet the gurus give the kid minimal respect.

This kid can't be hidden - playing for one of the best teams in Ohio.

Total of 4 EMU recruits on the list including the Cincy QB.
I counted 5 EMU recruits on the list. There's a lot of talent in Ohio so just being on the list is an accomplishment.

Regardless, there is very little science to lists like this. Scout had Holtzclaw and Schmitt as one-star recruits. Jason Jones was a two-star and he'll be playing on Sundays. Rankings and lists mean very little.
W'Nickle:

You are almost arguing AGAINST following recruiting.

It is essentially a post-hoc analysis (instead of an a priori approach - lets rank Feb.'s prospects 1 to 25 and then check back in 3 years and see if the predictions were reliable).

Many of our highest rated recruits wish out and some one star recruits become stars.

This isn't usually true at UofM where most of their top 5 star recruits go on to play on Sundays.

This seems to suggest that it is very difficult to project MAC-level recruits (cf. with recruits at USC, LSU, UofM, etc.).

At the MAC-level there are few 'sure bets'. Mostly kids who are either fairly good prospects, prospects or borderline prospects.
W'Nickle:

You're right about the 5 prospects on the list.

I did a search for "E. Mi' and missed the kid going to "Eastern Michigan".

The only reason I follow EMU recruiting is to see who there getting, what positions, other offers, etc.

You can't qualify a class as good or bad based on rankings, news reports, etc. Only the results on Rynearson's turf can answer that.
