I know they're a rival a few miles up the road from us, but I can't help but root for them a little. Especially after upsetting Butler last night. I know Coach Waters isn't here anymore; but am I the only Kent fan that pulls for whatever school he is at?

Also: with Kent, Akron, CSU, OSU, Dayton and Xavier all doing very well this season, has there been a better season for Ohio basketball teams in the last several years?

Finally (and most important) Another great win by Kent last night. The game with Akron is setting up to be the biggest in a few seasons. This Alum can't wait.
Another KSU fan and I went to that game last nite. It was a great game, and I see Gary doing at CSU exactly what he did for us. I do not know if this is good or bad for us, but it is nice to see such a class coach do it the correct way. He will do it at CSU with a lot of Ohio kids. I wished that we had more local players but I can not complain with our team. What a great performance in Oxford.
I know I have nothing but positive feelings for Coach Waters. I hope he turns CSU into the perennial power of the Horizon League. I had hoped the same for Rutgers.
But I also want to beat them like a drum every year, too.
Heck ya i root for CSU. They are now my 2nd favorite team behind Kent with Gary there. There is room and plenty of recruits for both of us to be highly successful and the yearly battle makes both of us better for our conference seasons.

He's the godfather of this masterpiece we are all stilly enjoying immensely 10 years later.

Now i do believe that JC has had the toughest job and has done the best coaching job of all 3 coaches during this run, but i'll always pay homage to the man that started it.

NOW THAT THERE IS ONE OTHER PERSON SAYING IT ..ILL SAY GARRY WATERS IS MY FAVORITE KENT COACH EVER AND JC IS MY SECOND , NOW I GOT TO HIDE FROM THE CRAZY HOMMIES ...03-lmfao03-lmfao..
Oldfan1, what is a "hommie"? Is that like "commie"??
I have no problem rooting for Cleveland St, Ohio St. and yes even Akron. Any local team that does well and has a chance to win a few NCAA games would get my support as long as they are not playing Kent.
It all depends on the coach. With Gary Waters, you got no complaints. Besides, he has GOOD lawyers.
I wish GW well in Cleveland. He will always be the one that had the vision and started the ball rolling. Becuase he did it with principles, it's lasted.

But the best love for JC will come two years out of this job...he's going to be a KSU legend at some point.
The wins last night from Cleveland State and St. Louis certainly help us out...these two teams looked weak against Kent and they whooped up on a couple top 20 teams...add the fact that we beat Miami in their house, and you can smell the RPI cooking...of course, it won't smell too good if the Boobcats give us a setback...
It's good to see CSU do well. It's good for Cleveland, the U, and for college basketball overall in NE Ohio. It would be nice to see college b-ball approach the SW Ohio fervor for XU, UC, MU, & UD. With UA, CSU, and Kent successful, sports fans in this area may wake up and realize there is some good ball played around here.

I agree. If CSU can do well, maybe there will be a little more media attention in NE Ohio on local college basketball. Heck, when Kent played CSU, there weren't even highlights on the local Cleveland stations (though I did see OSU-UMBC highlights).

As far as Waters, I wish him the best. He can win every game that Kent isn't playing against him.
The Flash, you forgot Wright State in SW Ohio. The last I heard, however, the Kentucky Wildcats were more popular in that part of Ohio than anyone.

NO let me explain if i can ,im not as smart as all of you, but ill try, i think is an urban thing that i may be spelling wrong, but what i'm thinking is that there are many folks who are always looking at things through rose color lenses , folks that problably are close with people in the program and are very upset when one says anything that may not agree with things as they see it , you can see that in some of the awnsers they post when someone says something they dont like , is always the same folks ,like the remark that was made in this quote , i'm not taking this personal 03-lmfao03-lmfao, im just point it out as an example , is great Mr. kent76 that we can all have free speech ? i think it is ,dont you ?..03-lmfao04-cheers04-bow03-lmfao i'm close to 1000 posts wow i can't believe it and i also made lots of FRIENDS 03-drunk04-jawdrop

I started it on homey or homeys!

Enjoy! 04-cheers
Yes, Oldfan1. I'm all for free speech, am a strong supporter of the 1st Amendment. By the way, I personally felt the sting of censorship, having been "blacklisted" (their word, not mine) from another site for allegedly personally attacking Bill Needle! I felt like one of the infamous Hollywood Ten - Dalton Trumbo and them dudes.
