Here's what I was able to put together from various sources. I didn't scour individual school websites or message boards, and I'm sure there are some mistakes. Some players may not qualify or will transfer, but I'm trying to leave them on until confirmed.

Incoming recruits noted by previous schools.

Never see him play but DeUndrae Spraggins makes my all name team..What a great handle..
Thanks for posting this! We should pin this to the top of the board and make corrections as they come. Mods? It'll be enough to keep us drooling for the entire summer. 03-hissyfit

Btw, you could note that Ty Wesley, Matt Formisano, and Tyler Newbold are coming back from missions. Pooh Williams is coming off his year of academic work and before that he was at Federal Way HS in Wa.
Scratch #15 at San Jose State...Chris Oakes will be eligible mid-December 2007...more changes and additions are possible...

Done, and does that mean Williams will be a FR? Was he enrolled at USU or elsewhere? If I have it right, a partial qualifier (or greyshirt) is one that enrolls at the school where he plans to play and works to become eligible; he then must graduate within 4 years in order to regain his 4th year of eligibility. If he's eligible from the start, he can redshirt and doesn't have the 4-yr graduation requirement. If he enrolls at a prep school, he's considered a normal incoming freshman. I'm not sure what happens if he enrolls at a JC, doesn't play that year, and then transfers.

Yes, you are correct. WAC fans haven't seen him play so background info would help.

I saw some discussion about Ayon not coming, but haven't seen confirmation. I'd rather leave guys on than bounce them on and off due to rumors, but I'll take him off for now. And I'll change Oakes status. Thanks.
EJM..With the addition of Spraggins does this portend the end of Vaitiekus as an Aggie? Of the 3 ( Earl, Mayo and Watson) and now possibly 4 players from last year's roster who appear to be leaving the program are any candidates to remain as non scholarship players or playing with an academic scholarship?

How will their expected departure affect the APR rating for USU?

Good questions. It looks as if Arvy may be gone. The only reason I say that is because there's been a rumor, for a while now, about him wanting to go to Europe to play pro ball there. And this new signing gives more credence to that (all though the signing really isn't official yet). The other curious aspect of this signing is Brandon Brown signing with Idaho. Brandon Brown is the much better prospect and he signed with Utah St before Idaho. Now we have Spraggins (supposedly) who was a worse prospect. I'm scratching my head over this one. How does Spraggins sign with Utah St and Brown end up at Idaho and not at Utah State? 01-wingedeagle If Brown could qualify at Idaho, there's no reason he couldn't qualify at Utah State, unless I'm assuming incorrectly that Utah State's admission standards aren't any higher than Idaho's. Or maybe Spraggins will be on an academic scholy? I find that last question very difficult to believe since he's coming the JC route.

As for the APR, Utah St had a 902 in basketball, which is just barely passing the NCAA standard. Stew seems to be changing his ways and getting more HS kids. With more HS kids, Utah St should have less trouble with the APR in basketball, because we won't have such a high attrition with JC transfers falling out of grace.
The Brown situation is more than a little perplexing.

Stew has been recruiting at a higher level. That should lessen the attrition with JC kids, also, because lower level mid-major prospects won't be as common and the WAC level recruits should be able to better meet expectations.

As for Brandon Brown, I say, "Good for him if he's able to qualify and good for Idaho if they're able to get such a great prospect. Any improvement we get out of Idaho is welcome with me, even if they got a recruit that Utah State had signed."
I think Morrill is recruiting very well..He always does..I like seeing him get more freshmen because I think the WAC should be a league that attracts freshmen. Another interesting sign is with Pooh Williams and the kid from Japan, Morrill was able to step out of the Utah/Idaho/ Wyoming region to get solid freshmen recruits. To me that widens the profile for USU.

Yup! I think the WAC affiliation IS helping recruiting, all though Stew doesn't seem to want to admit that.

But your comment is true for any program that wants to get on the national stage. In order to get on that national stage, regardless of the sport, you have to recruit on the national stage and sometimes international. That's why I preach so much about the importance of playing on ESPN in the WAC. In order to get those national recruits impressed with your program you have to have national exposure, now and then. If the WAC ever lost this exposure, we'd see our recruiting decrease, IMO.

Fortunately, the WAC is a recognizable name among most people that pay attention to college athletics. And that IS helping Stew make Utah St a much better program. I love the WAC because of this. It's fun to see such great competition in the Spectrum so frequently. 04-bow Our biggest games are against WAC teams. It used to be that our biggest games were against BYU and Utah. Not so, anymore. 05-stirthepot

Now if Utah State could get some notable teams on the OOC schedule and get even more national exposure..... :soapbox:

Ayon signed a pro contract with a Mexican team last summer and returned to Mexico. He never played for SJSU.

But is it really that simple? link: NCAA Amateur Status for Non-US Citizens

Isn't the status of early NBA losses still up in the air?

Not really, IMHO. The only player that has any shot at the first round is Dominic McGuire. But I don't see him making it that high either. He'll be back, let alone the rest.

I'm not trying to make that call, and that's why I didn't try to cut rosters off at 13. This is a pretty deep draft...if any of them stay in, I wish them the best.
Some "new" signings as we get closer to the end of the late signing period:

Jonathan Clark G 6-0 185 Jr, Trinity Valley CC, TX (La Tech)
Mark Sanchez F 6-7 240 Jr, Pima CC, AZ (Boise St)
CJ Webster F 6-8 255 So, Fort Smith CC, AR (San Jose St)
