Good decision, he seems to finally have that program heading in the right direction. Something Buffalo hasn't had in a long time.
Gill is good for UB and the MAC. I hope he keeps the turn around going.

ANY program in the MAC that pushes the envelope in terms of the quality of their program is good for all of us. As much as Marshall was detested (for the way they did it), their arrival as a player on the national scene pushed every other program in the MAC to improve.
if it doesn't have a buyout then it don;t mean sht... .
Good news for the Buffalo program. Gill is a class guy and Buffalo should try to keep him around as long as possible. I will always pull for Turner Gill since he went to the same high school in Fort Worth as I did.
Smart move by Buffalo. The extension will help recruiting as they know this program under Turner is stable.

I would have to say it was probably the best year ever in the history of Buffalo football.

A lot of MAC fans have debated Buffalo's value to the Mid-American conference but you have to remember this program has only played in FBS for 10 years. One of the cavets is there is not a lot of great recruits in Upstate New York it doesn't matter though programs recruit nationally these days, look at Boston College they are at the top of the ACC.

Turner could take this program as far as Boise State. One advantage he has with Buffalo is its an AAU school, placing it among the top 62 research schools in North America.
Great to hear that Buffalo values the life that Turner Gill has brought back into the Bulls team. I have been saying it for years, but a strong Buffalo footballl team is very good for the MAC. Here is to hoping for more success for the Bulls. Except when they play against us of course. No more of that funny business like last year. 03-wink

I agree with you as far as the move being smart and providing stability.

I don't think that the vast majority of recruits really care much about Buffalo being a highly ranked research school. It's a source of pride for alums and MAC followers, but most recruits I think care more about the football end of it - initially at least.

Look, I appreciate that MAC schools are good academically, but I don't think most football recruits care a whole lot about academic reputation unless your name is Stanford, Northwestern, Vanderbilt, etc.
Good news.

And the good news was made possible when 'Braska hired the LSU coordinator and SMU filled their position with Jones.

Good news is that the MAC hasn't lost any HCs this off season.
