The AON Insurance Football Writer's Association of America 2007 Freshman All-American Team was announced January 7 and for the third consecutive year, the Mid-American Conference had multiple players named to the prestigious postseason squad by the nation's football writers.
Over the past three years, seven MAC players have received recognition by being named FWAA Freshman All-America which only announces a first-team. This season the committee received a record 104 nominations for the award.
Congrats to CMU's Antonio Brown and NIU's Alex Kube.

Once again I was lucky enough to be part of the nomination and selection process. I would have liked to have seen a couple of more MAC players on the team, especially Buffalo's Davonte Shannon, but feel the MAC still received solid representation.
