To be honest, I have never been overly impressed with him. In my opinion the main reason he has been successful is because he has had really good recievers to throw to. Every time I watch him play it seems like about half of his receptions are because of the recievers skills adjusting/diving to the ball rather than Ben being accurate. I think it is really starting to show in this game.
Tom Brady and Peyton Manning would suck trying to pass with the J'ville defense in their face all night as well.

In fairness to Ben, this isn't the usual Pittsburgh offense or defense, and he is being asked to do a lot more. Pittsburgh usually wins on their running game and defense with enough passes to keep the D honest. With Fast Willie out and the D having problems for the last half of the season they have gone to a pass first approach and that definitely does not play to their strength.
RobertN- you are the same guy that thought the MAC's TV contract for football sucked this year because you couldn't see the games in CT?

I just wanted to know if I needed to respond to the original post
Hey Robert, kill yourself.

Yes I am the same guy but it isn't only because I can't see the games in CT(though it is a big part) but it is because the MAC can't show off its talent for the country to see on a regular basis.

You can respond to my post if you want. In my opinion Ben has a strong arm but I always see his recievers diving, jumping and adjusting to catch his long passes(to be fair, he has an occasional accurate long throw). It seems like he can throw the short 5 yard pass just fine but so can a lot of QB's. It is the receivers that are doing the work getting open and then breaking the tackles to get most of the yards to make Bens stats look better.

Thanks.

BTW, nice fumble Ben. Way to blow the game. 03-nutkick

Classy, you internet tough guy.

I curse you to die spitting blood.
I think Ben's a great QB, but he stunk it up tonight. The guy had 4 turnovers, for gods' sakes, the last one with the game on the line and 37 seconds on the clock.
RobertN, name all the QBs in the world- college and/or pro that you think are better than Ben R

If you come up with more than 10 names I would be surprised.

He played awful in the first half of this playoff game, but he still ended up with a decent game. He finished the year with a QB rating over 100.
Small point, but I thought the holding call on Pittsburgh on the succcessful 2 point conversion pass (a beautiful play BTW) to Ward Hines was a real BS call......ended up being the difference.
He's no Phil Horvath, if that's what you mean.
=>Screw Ben and everything Steelers!
