With the awesome weather (65 at kickoff and clear), there should be 39-40,000 people at the game. As usual, it will look pretty good on tv at the beginning, then look empty by the 4th quarter.

Once again, the people of Mobile have stepped up in making this the best MAC Bowl and one of the best bowl experiences of them all (of course I'm biased)

4,500 tickets were sold between the two schools.
There is no city or its residents that supports a Bowl better than Mobile!
Thanks for the kind words Okie!! We'd love to get the Chippewas down here, but y'all keep winning the damn MACC. Keep up the good work!
I agree, without the loyal citizens of Mobile, the GMAC Bowl would have been doomed.
Amen to the fine folks in Mobile.

BTW, the Mobilians (fine folks in Mobile) get the MAC team (BG this year) off the hook for tixs.

BSU is on the hook for the tixs up in Toronto.

The Muncie paper had an article indicating the MAC was going to look for a way to keep the team going to Toronto from taking a beating - FINANCIALLY.

Bottom line: MCB and GMAC are good for the schools' bottom lines.

Not so for I-Bowl.
I love the MCB, but it is time for a change. The CHIPS need to be in in Mobile next year. I love that place.
MAC Was going to look into getting people to Toronto. shouldn't they have started 2 yrs ago.
Looks like a sizeable crowd at the game though looks primarily Rutgers but at least a good number in the seats.

That is just fantastic local support, there can't be another city that steps up like this for 2 teams that are not in it's region. :ncaabbs:

Would love to see NIU play in Mobile next year.02-13-banana I guarantee you NIU would sell more than 2,000-2,500 tickets.
I can't speak for BGSU, but as a Tulsa fan I know that we won't sell many until we get used to the bowl system put forth by CUSA. We knew nothing about the Mobile Bowl, but I think we'll support it more once we've been there. Tulsa had an estimated 20,000 fans traveled over 400 miles to the Liberty Bowl in 2005 and we had an estimated 10 to 12,000 at the 1991 Freedom Bowl in California. If our fans get excited about the team, they'll attend.

Good luck to BGSU on Sunday as well as to TU.
Locals from mobile do a good job of supporting this bowl.
Can we expect a lot of Scarlet & Gray in the crowd?
I'd expect OSU fans there. 1st they are CFB fans from Ohio & looks to be very entretaining game
