Get 'em before play starts today and I look like an idiot (or after, if you desire).

Not for the faint of Huskie fan: HJ Power Rankings
An interesting read. I don't know about CMU being ranked that high, but someone is going to have to step up in the West and collect the wins. I can't wait for some in conference action. Here is how I would rank it going into the season by Division:

EAST: Kent, Miami, Akron, Ohio, Buffalo, BGSU

WEST: WMU, Toledo, CMU, EMU, NIU, BSU
I went out on a limb with Central, but I can see them being that high if Toledo turns out to be not that good and Western doesn't get it together.
I think WMU will dominate the West and win it by 3-4 games, but the division is very weak. I agree that CMU can be good, but I think it will be an up and down season for them due to depth. I agree that the talent on the other 4 is awfully thin this season.
Nice write-up though!
Power rankings indicate this is how you think the teams currently stack up, not how you think they'll end the year. Therefore, placing CMU at #3 is wholly without justification.

The top 3 teams in the MAC to date are Kent, Miami, and Ohio - in some order. Akron hasn't proven anything, and everyone else is below .500.

What has Ohio done to prove they are better than Akron so far. You have zero wins over top 100 RPI compared to Akron with two. Ohio has not proved anything yet other than loses to strong teams improves your RPI.
This was an outstanding write up!

Thanks for sharing and keep them coming as they are posted.

Why, because you disagree? I think the Chippewas are pretty good. What do you want?
