Currently loaded with moisture, just needs some cold air to turn it into a monster snow storm. Look out DB and MH, this one has FEET of snow written all over it. As for Michigan, it is my hope that this reaches Michigan around Sunday night dumping 2 or 3 feet.

Looks like it's bringing warm air with it, though. Will more likely be rain than snow-in Michigan anyway.

Who you kidding, Dip? You teachers cancel school at the first hint of Suzy Snowflake. The rest of us have to dig our driveways out from under 4 feet and soldier on to work! 01-lauramac2
I heading up to the mountains before this crosses into Colorado, POWDER TIME!!!!
Make sure to bring your coffee can of candles, candy bars, trail mix, water, brandy matches and reading material just in case. I'd hate to read how you spent your last days stuck up in a snow drift in the mountains, munching snow and writing your last thoughts on the sun visor.

Quote:HIGH WINDS AND HEAVY SNOW WILL DEVELOP ALONG THE EAST SLOPES OF THE SOUTHERN SIERRA THIS MORNING BEFORE SPREADING INTO THE WHITE MOUNTAINS AND CONTINUING THROUGH SATURDAY MORNING. THIS STORM WILL LIKELY PRODUCE FOUR TO SIX FEET OF SNOW ABOVE 6000 FEET...
WITH EVEN HIGHER TOTALS POSSIBLE AT THE UPPER ELEVATIONS. HIGH
WINDS OVER 70 MPH WILL COMBINE WITH THE SNOW TO PRODUCE BLIZZARD CONDITIONS.

Serious weather
Yep, but once with storm goes through.........it's heaven on skis.

I carry all that, a camping heater, sterno, and a sleeping bag too. I learned the hard way in the high country of Arizona when I first moved out there, never again.
I'm just glad I don't live in the burned out canyon areas in San Diego County about now.......can you say flooding and mudslides?
Oh man, between there and Irvine, those houses are COMING DOWN!
I saw where large areas of California lost power in the storm. Must be high winds.

I have to head out to LA in a week or so. But it's probably north of there anyway.
^^ And who say's you can't go sledding in Southern California?
