I personally think he should be fired. I know that is harsh but he CLEARLY should not be officiating if he doesn't know the rules. I also think they need a retraining class for the rest of the MAC officials.
How does Carl Paganelli keep his job ?

The guy was in the booth there as well. Hes a complete joke but people keep defending him in Cleveland.
I saw the headline " MAC Official To Be Reprimanded," and my first reaction was "why only one of them?"

Some things never change.
I could ask if this official was the one in the Bud Light commercial but I doubt he could tackle.
There really needs to be a conference-wide evaluation of the MAC refs in all sports. These guys are clowns controlling the fates of our teams. There's a reason these guys aren't reffing for other conferences, but that doesn't mean that we have to hire them just because nobody else will.

I don't think this is true - I can turn on the tube and see some of these bozos calling games in the Big 11, ACC, and other televised games in basketball.
Our refs commonly do Big 10 games, even MVC games. Working the MAC is a step up from some lower levels of college ball. Few officials only work for one conference.
Everyone loves to claim their conference has the worst refs, just like they like to brag that their school/county/region has the highest per capita intake of alcohol. Why do people like to do this? They have the American fascination with extremes and overstatement. People hate not having things they are associated with being either the best or the worst. Being in the middle is a sin. Fact is, our refs are pretty much like the refs everywhere else: they make some bad calls, they make the right calls.
There will always be some fans for whom the refs are the game: every game they watch they'll ***** about the refs, especially every game their team loses.
I don't like the way some crews call games, but I don't think it is different in other parts of the country. Where is this magic region of the country where the locals agree they have good refereeing?

(It doesn't exist.)
