Planned on going to BW-3's before the game Tuesday, but it was quarter wing night, and they were packed. Instead we went to Bruno's on West Michigan. Brunos has been there since 1959, but for whatever reason never became an institution like Galley Sub.
Anyhow, haven't eaten their in 10 years. I forgot how good their pizza is. I'm so used to buying mass produced cardboard such as Little Sleazers, P Hut, or P Johns that I forgot what real homemade dough, and quality cheese tastes like, not to mention an actual pizza oven.
Business wasn't bad, but not busting at the seams like it might, had Bruno's become an institution on campus. Still has the same art deco early 60's interior. Heck, I'm pretty sure the original owner, now in his 80's still tosses pizzas there. Campus and traffic grew west, and most of the commercial traffic went that way too.
