Is it a long shot... hell yes.

But who knows... if he doesn't like Rich Rodriguez and is willing to decommitt... why the hell not.

Hell... I'd open it up to most of their lower ranked recruits and those who want to transfer.

The problem at Michigan came from the staff being stuck in the 70s.... HC, OC all the way down tot he S&C coach..... AND Michigan doesn't recruit a lot of problem kids... yeah the kids have problems every once and a while.. but they generally don't go after someone who wont cut it academically.
Alright, you guys are officially "tripping balls."

You could have went with Rocko Khoury and saved a little face.
One deranged, albeit hopeful poster does not mean 'you guys'.
Hey, Wee Wee...........O'Neil's brother plays here.................get the difference? 03-nutkick
not to mention his teamate is coming here, and also a classmate of his brothers is already here in Phil Swanson. We were in Dann's top 5 for a long time. I don't know where WMU ended up on his list.
Hey i am pro MAC about as much as I am pro Central. If you guys think he will listen to what your selling, get him on the phone. The MAC is an abomination, anytime a good recruit goes away from the BCS and towards us, I'm thrilled.

By the way we just stole a recruit from MSU...our class is really shaping up over here in the "lower-northern" part of the state.
Woa, a recruit from mSU, you should be so proud, they were such a powerhouse in the Big Eleven.

Also, it's 'Northern-Lower', at least that's what they say in ALL THOSE real estate listings up there.....03-lmfao
who is the recruit you guys just stole away from MSU?
One of these guys? Lorenzo White Jr., Derek Carter, Yvener Lisca or Zach Hueter? I'm guessing Lorenzo, not a big deal.
I'm sure it wasn't so much "steal" as it was... he got sick of waiting for his Big Ten school of choice to finally offer him.
^
You're starting to get a clear understand of how chips "steal recruits" by BW's, er, Pit-e-wa-wa's propaganda.
well...I just read this on Rivals about Dann O'Neill.

"I think it is going to be a lot of fun," said O'Neill. "They'll be getting a new offense in there. That's closer to the offense I run at Grand Haven, and it's a lot of fun in that offense. I really haven't heard a whole lot about him personality and character-wise. I just know his record and offense. I'm pretty happy. I think he's going to do well at Michigan."

This O'Neill situation is kinda like the Wiggins situation out of high school. Wiggins is the cousin of E.J. Biggers. Anyway, Western Michigan gets more respect out of state than it does in state. No way could WMU compete with Michigan on in state recruits. Coach Cubit has talked about that very issue quite abit in the past. Its sad really...CMU, and WMU definitely deserve more respect in this State.
Yeah... O'Neill wasnt going to come.

He's dedicated to the program/tradition. We had no chance... but there is no reason Cubit couldn't have tried.
Quote:By the way we just stole a recruit from MSU..

Not true. Lorenzo White did not have an offer from MSU. Do not believe everything you read on Rivals, and believe nothing you are told by that propagandist who runs your crap site. Kids often misunderstand the phrase "we'd love to have you here" as a legit offer. It's wiggle from for staffs to keep you on a hook until they fill their need.

Ray Bentley's kid claimed an offer to CMU too................ it was never forthcoming. Lorenzo White Sr. assumed the same.
Like I said, reading their circle jerk board is like listening to an old armed forces newsreel film.
"Stealing one" from a Big Ten school almost never happens. On the surface it often appears as such, but the reality is often that the kid never had an offer to begin with. Trust me when I tell you this is common.

"Kansas and Colorado have offered everybody." That's a quote from a high school coach who puts out D-1 talent like chickens lay eggs. His point was, some schools tell everybody they want them.
And both schools have coaches who know how it works from both sides of the boulevard, not surprising. Hawkins strikes me as a snake oil salesman.
The List!!!! You Guys Have the List of our recruits!!!!....Damn you!

I have to disagree on the L.white thing. The managing editor of Go Spartans dot net stated just a week ago:

"Safeties Brynden Trawick of Sprayberry, GA., Lorenzo White, Jr., of Ft. Lauderdale, FL and Darius Darks of Pflugerville, TX all have offers from Michigan State, but with the Spartans holding verbal commitments from All-State defensive back Trenton Robinson and the first player to commit to Mark Dantonio's '08."

That corroberates what rivals said.
White also said earlier in the year that his dream was to play at MSU.

Suddenly his dream changed?

When reporting an offer you go on what the kid tells you. I had a kid tell me he had 9 offers and half of them were from BCS schools. I knew for a fact he didn't even have the offer from us.

The other common practice. Offer 4, hope that the two you want get scared and commit. I'm not saying White is a bad commit or anything, just telling you that Mehal has a bad habit of saying all of CMU's recruits were coveted by other schools, but chose his beloved Cornfield Tech and the Monument to Concrete.
that has been a common misconception by most CMU fans. It seems like we always knock your recruits, when in fact, we are knocking the guy that is reporting CMU's recruits.

The truth is, if your coaches believe these guys are worthy of scholorship offers, then they have to be some pretty good players. And honestly, it really doesnt matter if player x had a BCS offer...LeFevour really only had CMU, and he is one of the better Dual Threat QB's in the nation and is only a Sophomore.

I watched film on Paris Cotton (CMU RB commit 5'6" 165) and film on Aaron Winchester (WMU RB commit 5'9" 200). Both are extremely talented backs. Winchester looked better on film, but he played on a team that went 12-1, and Cotten played on a team that went 3-7. So it was hard to draw any real conclusions.

I am sure Cotten will put on about 20 pounds in college, so he could be the better get. Only time will tell...
