Personally, I'm not that crazy about it, and I prefer the design we've been using the past few years much better. But, if we win wearing it, I'm sure it will grow on me.

Didn't you guys just change it a couple of years ago? I like this color, but I agree the old design was much better.

The previous helmet design was used from 2000 to 2005 (first image shown below)

Prior to that, from 1990 to 1999, we used the second image below.

The last image was my own idea for a new design.

SJSU's 1990-1999 design was by far the best - simple and classy. The 2000-2005 was not bad either. Your 2006 version is pretty blah. (though I admit NMSU's current design is no better).

Coaches just can't resist putting their own stamp on things - even if it looks worse...

It looks too cluttered to me. The logo is too small.
Don't know why coaches like to change things all the time.
I like tradition. Pick a Helmet design and keep it for 50 years.....

I am in total agreement with you Bob. The new logo wasn't even designed for the helmet. It was meant to be used for stationary, t-shirts, banners, etc. Someone in the new SJSU Athletics regime thought (wrongly) that it would look good on the helmet. For me, this is the first bad decision I have seen the current administration at SJSU make.

I sat down with the AD the other day, and saw the helmet in person.

It looks great.

Now the logo on our field, and the end zone lettering are all in unison with our uniforms.

It's all part of a new day in San Jose.
Winning is what matters, and logos are secondary....

OK. Here's another idea for a new helmet. Anything but that awful Canoe Man that SJSU is planning to switch to.

Well, Nevada's bowl history is 3-3, while San Jose's bowl record all time is 4-3.

Nevada has been to 4 bowls since SJSU has, Nevada has 8 confernce Championships since SJSU's last and has finished ahead of SJSU, Since moving up to Division 1A nevada is 7-3 against the Spartans, and the Pack has a 4 game winning streak going.

Now, now, just because SJS hasn't had a winning season since the Peloponesian Wars ended doesn't mean that nobody can go wolf hunting in bad weather.

I remember a lot of those games during the Peloponesian War..I still contend that the Spartans from San jose only won the championship because the Athenians kept tripping over their toga's..Plato had a helluva arm at QB but was a slow decision maker and was often confused by defenses designed around images from caves. Socrates had good hands but always questioned the offensive coordinator..

I don't know how talk of our new helmet design developed into this hate SJSU thread, but just how many NCAA national championships does Nevada have? FYI, San Jose State has 10!
