Have heard (unconfirmed) that Cubit fired QB coach Kavanaugh after only one season, and that first-year WR coach Heard may be let go, too.

Anybody know anything more? Troubling, if true.
This is far fetched.... but how about this...

Kavanaugh and Heard get let go.

Cubit becomes the QB coach.

George McDonald comes back after a horrible season at Minnesota.

MAC OC pay and Big Ten receivers coach pay is quite comparable. He did like it here.

Now this is all speculation... I really have no idea, so I'm just throwing this out there.

Maybe Cubit reads this and takes my advice.
It's only an unconfirmed rumor so far, but I wouldn't be at all surprised to see BC let an assistant go if he felt that WMU's "oh so close" season was partly at the fault of an assistant not coaching the way he wanted them to.
Lester returning......................or Jr. taking over? Hmmmmm

Don't see Lester returning.

He left to be with his kid... it wasn't a football decision. So unless he brings his son with him... it aint happening.

I dont see Jr. taking over.... yet.03-melodramatic
Where is Cubiit Jr right now? I never thought he would make it as a player on the next level but I was almost positive he picked a thing or two up about coaching from his father and would be a solid coach.
Michmaster, don't know where he is physically right now, but here is some info:

IMHO bringing Ryan Cubit back as QB coach would be a great move. He knows what it takes to make the offense move in Dad's schemes. The only hard part would be how to handle the situation on a personal level. Working for a family member is always a tough assignment.
True BP but if he could make it with his dad as the coach, I'm sure he would do great AS a coach. I never really thought about it before but I think it would be kind of cool and may work out very well. He was practically a coach on the field anyways, especially over all those time he was hurt, he knows the offense like noone else except Sr himself and he knows the players. GO FOR IT I say. Why not?!?!
If there are coaching changes this year I believe they will be voluntary.
Has anyone heard that Miller is getting canned? His attitude and is unwillingness to adjust to his players should get him fired. A defense that was the best in the mac in 06 to being mediocre in 07 is enough reason for me.
Miller actually was right, and proved it as the season went on. The defense figured it out, and were very good by years end. What good would it do to can him? Then you simply bring in someone else and once again they have to learn how to do it that guys way.

Connerita? I never argue with him about sports.....
Miller did a fine job with the D
The D wasn't the problem the last half of the season at all, other than they were on the field to long, and started defending in bad field position too often IMO.
Miller took a lot of chit from the know-everything bards in this forum (that includes me) early in the season. But the Defense started to get it late in the season and came on strong. That looks to be a strength next season.
