Quote from Illinois State's Osiris Eldridge in the postgame press conference following ISU's loss to Eastern Michigan:

"We lost to a bad team. We lost to some bums."

Wow. Class all the way. 03-hissyfit

Wonder how Judson is feeling tonight. Probably give him nightmares tonight. 03-lmfao

BTW, You are correct, not classy at all.
Interesting , though, that they assess themselves as lower than bums. Real self-esteem issues for Ill. St.

I think I mentioned part of the problem in the previous post. 03-shhhh
You need to excuse Osiris. He is used to hanging with Jason and the Argonauts.

Hey, if you think you lost to a bad team, I see no problem in saying it. That takes stones, in my eye. Enough of this "everyone is awesome" talk from coaches.

I'm not saying EMU is a bunch of bums, just talking in general.

No. I was there. That took no guts at all to say. Just a lot of immaturity.

Strangely, ISU's coach did not attend the postgame presser and that comment probably would not have been made if their coach had been there.
Was it a tainted victory?

Next stop: Illinois State.
What a tool.
Inexcusable, in my opinion.

is this guy who said this a player? i assume he is. is it possible to reprimand him for saying this?

Yeah, I should have clarified that. He is their top player, averaging about 15 points per game. I was thinking of contacting their SID to see if they would like to apologize or clarify that before I run it in my weekly MAC hoops column when it resumes.

Dave, good for you to give them one more shot at apologizing or clarifying. nice job! if they don't, nail 'em! 04-rock

That's your story right there. I've got dollars to donuts that the coach went back to the locker room, ripped his kids a new *******, and then ducked out on the presser while his player just repeated what he'd been told by his coach.

Who's the idiot who coaches the Redbirds these days?

Former NIU head coach Rob Judson is one of their assistants. I don't know who their head coach is though.

Yeah. That particular Illinois State player is probably never a happy camper. Imagine having to go through life named after a mythological God of Death. What a depressing thought. LOL.
ISU's coach is Tim Jankovich. Not much to know about him other than he has been an assistant coach for 20+ years at Kansas State, Illinois and Kansas.
To be fair I thought that I should post here that I did receive a reply from ISU to Eldridge's comments and they indicated that they wish to apologize for the remarks as his comments "are not what the program nor our athletics department condones."

It was mentioned that Eldridge was frustrated over the amount of fouls that were called.

Glad to see they responded and hopefully the players will be a bit more circumspect in their comments. I suspect the coach won't let them fly solo again in the post conference.
Does it really matter if he referred to EMU as a bunch of bum???

Doesn't change the fact that they kicked ISU's :moon:

Heaven forbid a guy is honest.
